Amid escalating global demands for both enhanced agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability, biochar-based fertilizers have emerged as a promising solution in modern agriculture. These fertilizers, made from biochar derived residues, shown considerable potential improving soil quality, enhancing nutrient release dynamics, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This review systematically examines the production technologies, application strategies, agronomic benefits of fertilizers. Studies highlight their ability to improve structure, increase organic matter, boost utilization efficiency, which contribute higher crop yields better quality. Moreover, demonstrated notable advantages, such emissions methane (CH4) nitrous oxide (N2O), while promoting sustainable resource recycling. However, challenges costs, variability efficacy across different types, need further optimization formulation remain. Future research should focus on optimizing fertilizer formulations, conducting long-term field trials validate ecological performance. provides valuable insights researchers, policymakers, practitioners, offering comprehensive theoretical framework integration into practices.
