The increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration due to anthropogenic activities has led the development of low-cost, portable, and user-friendly sensing technologies. Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) sensors offer reliable detection with high sensitivity, which makes them ideal for citizen scientists. In this context, we designed two low-cost monitoring systems: an automatic opening chamber a lid portable device using NDIR sensors. These systems were calibrated (R2 = 0.99) known concentrations. Besides its reliability accuracy, Automated Monitoring System costs approximately USD 220.77 151.43, suitable Due gas system’s simplicity, structure, operation, non-expert users can use actively participate in environmental data collection. This promotes public engagement climate air quality enables scientists have awareness.
