Faced with the challenges posed by climate change, Serbian viticulture is looking for sustainable solutions adaptable production. This study shows that grass a multifunctional tool overcoming of intensive while maintaining quality grapes. In three-year research experiment (2020–2022), maintenance an inter-row sward in vineyard four certified high-quality French Cabernet Sauvignon clones was investigated, and its effects on ampelographic composition grapes grape juice (must) were studied as function wine quality. A established between rows biological soil management system change adaptation measure high-intensity viticultural system. grass–legume mixture used cover crop, nitrogen applied two doses (50 100 kg ha−1) spring. The growth grasses responded to fertilisation, which reflected biomass production, surface content biomass. At end study, increased threefold when high dose compared non-fertilised grass. contrast sward, N has no effect quantitative or qualitative parameters Clone 169 separated most mechanical such bunch mass, all berries stem; clone 15 showed best sugar glycoacidometric index. results show option can mitigate rising temperatures, contribute conservation carbon storage enable timely interventions vineyards after heavy rainfall creating accessible paths within vineyards. different nutrient inter-rows interaction systems, vine, low negative impact parameters.
