To meet the growing demand for aquatic products, aquaculture sector is expanding, including organic aquaculture. One of main challenges in this industry development suitable fish feeds. EU regulations have made recommendations, incorporation fishmeal from trimmings. However, use such meal may pose issues due to lower protein content and elevated phosphorus concentrations that could conflict with national environmental regulations. Thus, there a pressing need innovative research formulate environmentally friendly feeds This study aims evaluate feasibility utilizing an feed derived trimmings (substitution 64.3% dietary concentrate trimmings) rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). assessed impact diet on welfare over two-month period real-farming conditions, using: (i) growth parameters, (ii) external morphological damages, (iii) swimming activity, used as proxy energy expenditure, (iv) blood liver health indicators. Given activity was evaluated using surgically implanted accelerometer tags, we also investigated potential adverse effects implanting these tags welfare. Our findings indicate implantation did not significantly affect welfare, but 18.6% reduction specific rate shown tagged compared their non-tagged counterparts. Importantly, impair indicators or lead abnormalities. An increased expenditure fed those control was, however, shown, no observable performance. The offer viable solution reduce release soluble into environment while maintaining appropriate standards conditions. Nevertheless, long-term consequences should be explored.

Dietary protein quality plays a key role in maintaining intestinal mucosal integrity, but also modulates the growth of luminal microorganisms. This work assessed effect dietary sources on performance, gut morphology, and microbiome Nile tilapia. Four isonitrogenous isolipidic diets comprising equivalent amounts supply derived from either PLANT, ANIMAL, INSECT, or BACTERIAL (bacterial biomass) were fed to triplicate groups fish (IBW: 12 g) for 46 days. Fish ANIMAL showed significantly higher weight gains than those PLANT INSECT (p < 0.05). Relative abundance at phylum level that Bacteroidetes, Fusobacteria, Proteobacteria more abundant phyla tilapia's intestine, while Cetobacterium was most representative genus all treatments. Interesting patterns observed correlation between amino acid intake species abundance. Metabolism prediction analysis amine polyamine degradation pathways are modulated depending diets. In conclusion, different modulate relationship bacteria functional intake.

This study offers a comprehensive morpho-histological analysis of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) Malabar red snapper. A comparison its GIT morphology with that Asian seabass reveals similarities and differences between two species. Additionally, moisture content, crude protein, ash in fillets snapper were slightly different, exhibiting higher levels essential fatty acids. Furthermore, polyunsaturated acid (PUFA)/saturated (SFA) ratio docosahexaenoic (DHA)/eicosapentaenoic (EPA) ratio, lower omega-6/omega-3 observed compared to seabass. The snapper’s esophagus featured protective mechanisms such as simple columnar epithelial cells, mucous-secreting glands, goblet cells predominantly stained for neutral mucosubstances. stomach, mucus weakly mucosubstances, exhibited distinct regions varying glandular densities, pyloric region featuring few glands. caeca fish composed five finger-like structures cells. Several gradually increased from anterior posterior intestine. These findings provide useful insights aquaculture sector, focusing on
