Citrus limon is among the species of genus that dominates world market. It highly nutritious for humans as it contains twice amount suggested daily intake ascorbic acid and also a good source phenolic compounds, carotenoids, other bioactive compounds. This study aimed to identify optimal extraction procedures parameters obtain maximum quantity components from lemon peel by-products. Various techniques, including stirring, ultrasound, pulsed electric field, were evaluated, along with factors such time, temperature, solvent composition. The results revealed simple stirring 150 min at 20 °C proved be most effective practical method. ideal mixture consisted 75% ethanol 25% water, highlighting crucial role composition in maximizing efficiency. Among extracted compounds phenolics, acid, carotenoids. Under optimum conditions, extract was found contain high total content (TPC) (51.2 mg gallic equivalents, GAE/g dry weight), flavonoid (TFC) (7.1 rutin RtE/g amounts (3.7 mg/g carotenoids (TCC) (64.9 μg β-carotene CtE/g). Notably, extracts demonstrated potent antioxidant properties (128.9 μmol AAE/g; 30.3 AAE/g evidenced by FRAP DPPH assays, respectively), making promising ingredient functional foods cosmetics. study’s implications lie promoting sustainable practices converting into valuable resources supporting human health wellness through consumption natural antioxidants.

The consumption of kombucha drinks has remarkably grown during the last decade and, besides traditional ingredients such as tea leaves, alternative raw materials with interesting functional properties are being proposed. aim this study was to obtain kombuchas enriched in phenolic compounds and a high antioxidant activity using fruits instead determine optimal fermentation time. fruit-based were prepared cherry, plum, apricot, strawberry, persimmon, grape, orange, or pomegranate three different microbial consortia (SCOBYs/SCs). pH, carbohydrate, ethanol, levels, vitro capacity determined along process (21 days). obtained products showed safe pH values (2.5–4.2) suitable ethanol levels (<1.2%). Their carbohydrate content almost half that commercial kombucha. fermentative microorganisms increased total (TPC) radical scavenging (TEAC) all preparations, differences found depending on SC used. Maximum TPC TEAC observed strawberry (up 13.7 mg/100 mL 2.05 μmol/mL, respectively). results fruits, mainly strawberries, could be used activity.

In the present study, Lobularia maritima (Lm) flavonoid extract (LmFV) was characterized by HPLC analyses and five compounds were detected. Further, to describe chemical content of matrix, GC-MS after silylation performed; obtained results showed presence a large number components belonging several classes, mostly sugar alcohols, sugars, fatty acids, terpenes. Firstly, antibacterial activities this fraction linalool (Lin) evaluated against eight foodborne pathogenic strains with MIC values between 2.3 5.8 mg/mL 0.23 0.7 mg/mL, respectively. Then, antioxidant activity both DPPH antiradical test phosphomolybdenum test. Furthermore, biopreservative effect LmFV alone in combination Lin on minced beef stored at 4 °C for 14 days using microbiological physiochemical tests. 4.6% significantly reduced microbial spoilage ground meat (p < 0.05). This combination, therefore, extends shelf life product about 10 days.
