Chemotherapy (CT) and radiation therapy (RT), while effective against cancer, often cause severe side effects, such as oral mucositis other diseases. Oral mucositis, characterized by inflammation ulceration of the mucosa, is one most painful effects that can reduce quality life limit cancer treatment. Curcumin, a polyphenol from Curcuma longa, has garnered attention for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic properties, which protect mucosa reducing oxidative stress modulating inflammation. This study reviews therapeutic potential curcumin in preventing managing caused CT RT. Clinical trials show curcumin’s effectiveness incidence severity mucositis. Although supplementation appears to be promising cost-effective approach mitigating complications patients, further clinical are needed confirm efficacy optimize dosing strategies.

Testicular ischemia-reperfusion induces enhanced concentration of reactive oxygen species. The increased species harm cellular lipids, nucleic acids, proteins, and carbohydrates, ultimately cause testicular injury. Sulforaphane, a kind natural dietary isothiocyanate, exists predominantly in some cruciferous vegetables, like broccoli cabbage. It can protect tissues from oxidative stress-induced damage. Herein, we analyzed the effectiveness sulforaphane treating injury occurring after torsion-detorsion. Male rats (n = 60) were grouped as follows: sham-operated group, unilateral group receiving treatment at 5 mg/kg. No torsion-detorsion was performed sham group. Unilateral model created by detorsion 2 h left torsion. In sulforaphane-treated intraperitoneal (5 mg/kg) administered detorsion. Biochemical assay, Western blot, hematoxylin eosin staining used to evaluate malondialdehyde content (an important marker species), protein levels superoxide dismutase catalase (intracellular antioxidant defense mechanism), reproductive function, respectively. tissues, significantly promoted, while catalase, function reduced ipsilateral testes ischemia-reperfusion. Nevertheless, administration partially reversed effect on these indexes. be concluded that elevates suppresses content, thereby preventing testis.

This study evaluates the antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer effects of Brazilian red propolis extract (BRPE) its nanoencapsulated form (NCBRPE) to address bacteria conditions associated with ovarian cancer microenvironment. The NCBRPE showed an average size 178.3 ± 3.3 nm, a polydispersity index (PdI) 0.06, encapsulation efficiency exceeding 97% for main bioactive compounds propolis. Antimicrobial assays revealed that BRPE exhibited minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 4 256 mg/L against seven bacterial strains, while demonstrated sustained efficacy, biofilm concentration (BIC) 128 Burkholderia cepacia. In clonogenic assays, reduced long-term cell proliferation, achieving 10-fold decrease in colony formation compared untreated controls, significantly outperforming BRPE. Flow cytometry indicated induced apoptosis 29% 0.4 cells (OVCAR-3). Aim: This article aims to explore the role of human gut microbiota (GM) in pathogenesis neurological, psychiatric, and neurodevelopmental disorders, highlighting its influence on health disease, investigating potential therapeutic strategies targeting GM modulation. Materials Methods: A comprehensive analysis microbiota’s composition interaction with body, particularly, neurological psychiatric conditions, is provided. The review discusses factors influencing composition, including birth mode, breastfeeding, diet, medications, geography. Additionally, it examines GM’s functions, such as nutrient absorption, immune regulation, pathogen defense, alongside interactions nervous system through gut–brain axis, neurotransmitters, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). Results: Alterations are linked various Parkinson’s multiple sclerosis, depression, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism. influences cognitive stress responses, mood regulation. Antibiotic use disrupts diversity, increasing risk metabolic obesity, allergic diseases. Emerging therapies probiotics, prebiotics, transplantation show promise modulating alleviating symptoms conditions. Conclusions. modulation represents a promising approach for personalized treatment strategies. Further research needed better understand underlying mechanisms develop targeted aimed at restoring balance improved clinical outcomes.

Hydroxyhydroquinone (HHQ) is an oxidative component produced by roasting coffee beans and has been reported to generate relatively large amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, we used senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8 (SAMP8) mice determine whether HHQ consumption increases oxidative-stress-induced injury, because in SAMP8 mice, the activity 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase 1, which repairs modifications DNA, decreased. The results showed that two out twelve (16.7%) HHQ-treated presented polyuria glucosuria around 2 months after start treatment, indicating may act as a mutagen against sensitive damage. No abnormalities were observed chlorogenic acid (coffee polyphenol, CPP)-treated group. concentration hydrogen peroxide serum was significantly higher than SAMR1 (senescence-resistant) control further increased CPP, when coexisting with at rate contained roasted coffee, decreased amount mice. Although CPP can both oxidatively antioxidatively acts more HHQ. Thus, effect shown be counteracted CPP.

Aim: Evaluate the acute toxicity effect of bonny light crude oil on histopathological and biochemical disrupting effects cardiac hepatocellular tissues. Oil spills, gas flaring, natural seeps, industrial discharge, destruction ecosystems have led to ecological devastation, health problems, socioeconomic challenges for communities in Niger Delta; one world's largest oil-producing regions. Crude spillage has been a persistent severe environmental concern Delta many years. The spilled covers water surfaces, diminishes oxygen levels, poses significant risks aquatic life, birds, loss biodiversity, well-being human population that heavily relies these resources their sustenance. Study Design: A total 50 albino rats were randomly divided into three (3) groups; control group, low dose high group. group consisted 10 while groups 20 each. was fed with normal (uncontaminated) rat feeds sterile only (that is, dosage 0.00mL/g feed), (0.005mL/g) 300g mixed 1.5mL BLCO (0.01mL/g) 3.0mL BLCO. treated administered once every day 35 days. Abstract In the Anamallais region of south India, crop shoots from UPASI-3, UPASI-9, UPASI-17, Assam seedlings, and TRI-2043 cultivars were examined for seasonal variations in total phenolics, antioxidant activity, minerals during four harvest seasons: summer (January to March), premonsoon (April May), monsoon (June September), winter (October December) two consecutive years. The phenolics all lower period grew over rest seasons it was greater summer. Crop shoot activity as measured by DPPH radical scavenging experiment exhibited a similar pattern phenolics. Summer season with highest across cultivars, followed premonsoon, winter, monsoon. On other hand, employed differed noticeably terms change minerals. These results appear indicate that is hypercritical deciding potency tea shoots.
