Many studies on structural control have been done in recent decades to enhance the safety and serviceability of high-rise structures or towers against earthquakes severe winds. Because most an unbalanced layout, when they are exposed earthquake, undergo torsion effects, which exacerbate reaction. Also, such might be built soft soil, where influence Soil–Structure Interaction (SSI) would significant. Thus, taking into account SSI effect, a mathematical model is developed this study determine seismic performance irregular multi-story structure with Active Tuned Mass Dampers (ATMDs) at top floor. The results were produced utilizing MATLAB/SIMULINK software using proposed hybrid Shallow Neural Network (SNN) technology Shuffled Shepherd Optimization (SSO). response 40-story asymmetric project buildings studied model. findings showed that ATMDs higher floors soil reduced reflexes. When compared Particle Swarm (PSO) Ant Lion (ALO) algorithms, suggested technique outperforms them both.

Tuned mass damper inerter (TMDI) is commonly reported to be a lightweight tunable device that can significantly reduce buildings' seismic response. However, the backward action produced by and returned building in conventional TMDIs may either performance or limit potential. This study proposes investigates novel control scheme using large physical ratios generated inerters. Hence, double tuned (DMTDI) formulated. The proposed consists of two TMDs placed at roof connected via an inerter. Thus, transmitted secondary instead building. Both TMDI DMTDI parameters are optimized genetic algorithm (GA). top floor displacement transfer function's H2- norm considered as objective function for minimization. optimally devices then tested under one hundred (100) near far-field ground motions. results obtained show significant response improvement peak displacement, acceleration, base shear. structure energy also investigated; lowest studied observed while scheme.

Abstract A metaheuristic‐based tuning methodology for the optimization of active tuned mass dampers (ATMDs) is presented. The considers both physical parameters ATMDs and controller control algorithm. employed algorithm a proportional–integral–derivative type controller. are used in structures reduction structural responses resulted from earthquakes. proposed methodologies must be feasible real practices construction, so consider all factors such as stroke capacity, limitation force, time delay generated signal, time‐saving one. novel hybrid metaheuristic that combines specific advantages four metaheuristics (harmony search, flower pollination algorithm, teaching‐learning‐based Jaya algorithm) process. results process showed more effective high values strike limitations, compared to TMDs. feasibility effectiveness optimum method also demonstrated on full‐size 76‐story structure.

In this study, multi-story structures with different combinations (on each floor and only the first floor) of active tendon control systems driven by a proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller were actively controlled. The PID parameters, Kp (proportional gain), Td (derivative Ti (integral gain) for structure, optimally tuned using both harmony search algorithm (HS) flower pollination (FPA), which are metaheuristic algorithms. two active-controlled structures, formed according to position PID, structural responses under near-fault records defined in FEMA P-695 examined determine appropriate feedback was applied displacement, velocity, acceleration, total acceleration. performance strategies on these is evaluated. As result, acceleration suitable all system controller. HS outperforms optimum results found FPA.

This study focuses on tuned liquid dampers (TLDs) using liquids with different characteristics optimized the adaptive harmony search algorithm (AHS). TLDs utilize characteristic features of to absorb dynamic forces entering structure and benefit from sloshing movement spring stiffness created by mass. have been investigate effect control analyzing various liquids. For optimization, memory consideration ratio (HMCR) fret width (FW) values were adapted classical (HS) parameters. The used three types models, such as single-story, 10, 40 stories. contribution damping performance was investigated optimizing minimum displacement under seismic excitation. According results, it understood that density kinematic viscosity do not affect single-story structures alone. However, two should be evaluated together. As mass increases, become more prominent.
