By supporting autonomy, aging in place, and wellbeing later life, Socially Assistive Robots are expected to help humanity face the challenges posed by rapid of world’s population. For successful acceptance assimilation SARs older adults, it is necessary understand factors affecting their Quality Evaluations Previous studies examining Human-Robot Interaction life indicated that three aspects shape adults’ overall QEs robots: uses, constraints, outcomes. However, were usually limited duration, focused on rather than assimilation, typically explored only one aspect interaction. In present study, we examined outcomes simultaneously over a long period. Nineteen community-dwelling adults aged 75–97 given SAR for physical training 6 weeks. Their experiences documented via in-depth interviews conducted before after study period, short weekly telephone surveys, reports produced robots. Analysis revealed two distinct groups: (A) The ‘Fans’ - participants who enjoyed using SAR, attributed added value it, experienced process; (B) ‘Skeptics’ did not like negatively evaluated its use, disappointing process. Despite vast differences between groups, both reported more positive evaluations at end began. Overall, results process SARs’ homogeneous provided profound understanding shaping QE following actual use. Additionally, findings demonstrated theoretical practical usefulness holistic approach researching users.

This article examines the model of digital era governance (DEG) in light latest-wave data-driven technologies, such as data science methodologies and artificial intelligence (labelled here DSAI). It identifies four key top-level macro-themes through which changes response to these developments may be investigated. First, capability store analyse large quantities obviates need for ‘compression’ that characterises Weberian-model bureaucracies, facilitates de-compression data-intensive information regimes, where capabilities public agencies civil society are both enhanced. Second, increasing robotic devices have expanded range tasks machines extending or substituting workers’ can perform, with implications a reshaping state organisation. Third, DSAI technologies allow new options partitioning functions ways maximise organisational productivity, an ‘intelligent centre, devolved delivery’ within vertical policy sectors. Fourth, each tier government, offer possibilities ‘administrative holism’ - horizontal allocation power between organisations, integration, common capacity needs-based joining-up services. Together, themes comprise third wave DEG changes, suggesting important administrative choices made regarding organisation, functional outsourcing arrangements, well long-term research agenda administration, requiring extensive detailed analysis.

Purpose This paper investigates the reasons for differences in customers' acceptance of service robots (CASR) actual experience and credence settings following two aspects: (1) different antecedents affecting CASR (2) customer perceptions their own characteristics (role clarity ability) robot (anthropomorphism ability). Design/methodology/approach The data were collected using online surveys an setting (Hotel, N = 426) a (Hospital, 406). Differences examined statistical methods, namely, PLS-SEM to test independent-samples t -tests characteristics. Robotic applications have often quickly transitioned from industrial to social. Because of this, robots can now engage with people in a natural way and blend their surroundings. Due the lack medical professionals, growing healthcare costs, exponential rise population vulnerable groups like ill, elderly, children developmental disabilities, use social system is expanding. As result, are employed field entertain educate hospitalized patients about health issues, as well assist elderly sick. They also dispensing medications, rehabilitation, emotional geriatric care. Thus, raise standard effectiveness This article explains how professionals collaborate industry. The objectives this collaboration resolve moral legal concerns, improve patient outcomes, delivery. It has broad range uses, including telemedicine, robotic surgical support. Human-robot interaction term used describe interactions between people. Many obstacles stand human-robot healthcare, safety acceptability appropriateness, usefulness, worry that may replace human carers. Background Numerous user-related psychological dimensions can significantly influence the dynamics between humans and robots. For developers researchers, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of psychometric properties available instruments used assess these as they indicate reliability validity assessment. Objective This study aims provide systematic review for assessing aspects relationship people social domestic robots, offering summary their quality evidence. Methods A was conducted following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses) guidelines across different databases: Scopus, PubMed, IEEE Xplore. The search strategy encompassed studies meeting inclusion criteria: (1) instrument could related including attitudes, beliefs, opinions, feelings, perceptions; (2) focused on validating instrument; (3) evaluated (4) underwent peer review; (5) in English. Studies focusing industrial rescue or robotic arms those primarily concerned with technology validation measuring anthropomorphism were excluded. Independent reviewers extracted methodological evidence Consensus-Based Standards Selection Health Measurement Instruments guidelines. Results From 3828 identified records, yielded 34 (0.89%) articles that validated examined 27 designed individuals’ relation These encompass broad spectrum dimensions. While most predominantly structural (24/27, 89%) internal consistency (26/27, 96%), consideration other frequently inconsistent absent. No measurement error responsiveness despite significance clinical context. Most (17/27, 63%) targeted at both adults older (aged ≥18 years). There limited number specifically children, adults, health care contexts. Conclusions Given strong interest human-robot relationship, there need develop new using more rigorous methodologies consider broader range properties. essential ensure creation reliable valid measures people’s regarding Among its limitations, this included applicable robots while excluding specific types (eg, robots).

Abstract Emotive artificial intelligences are physically or virtually embodied entities whose behavior is driven by intelligence, and which use expressions usually associated with emotion to enhance communication. These sometimes thought be deceptive, insofar as their emotive not connected genuine underlying emotions. In this paper, I argue that such indeed at least given a sufficiently broad construal of deception. But, while philosophers other commentators have drawn attention the deceptive threat intelligences, also pose an overlooked skeptical threat. short, widespread existence signals disconnected from emotions threatens encourage skepticism more generally, including used human persons. Thus, designing artificially intelligent facilitate human-AI interaction, practice runs risk compromising human-human interaction.
