Background In this study, we aimed to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQL) in patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) six months after their hospitalization and compare it that non-hospitalized mild COVID-19 healthy controls. Methodology Participants were enrolled between September 2021 April 2022 included hospitalized at General Hospital Athens "Hippocration" who had been discharged least prior enrollment, COVID-19, Collected data demographics, severity, medication history, comorbidities. completed a EuroQol 5 Dimensions 5Levels (EQ5D5L), Short Form 36 version 2 (SF36v2), Functional Assessment Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F), Post-COVID-19 Status Scale (PCFSS) regarding HRQL before infection acute respiratory syndrome 2. case controls, two sets questionnaires apart. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25 software (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Results A total 151 participants enrolled. Comorbidities or complications significantly influence coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) severity and mortality risk. Therefore, this study aimed to compare treatment outcomes of COVID-19 inpatients by underlying diseases complications. Data on patients from the National Health Insurance Service customized research database were analyzed while focusing eight complications: diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney liver dementia, depression, respiratory disease. Of 377,812 in 2021, 51.47% male 48.53% female, post-diagnosis was 2.04%; 68.7% (n = 259,560) had at least one condition, with following frequency: disease (78.88%), (33.84%), hypertension (30.29%), (21.38%), depression (9.32%), (4.89%), dementia (3.87%). Among without any diseases, 19.8% 74,925) treated for complications, (89.21%), (19.12%), (14.90%), diabetes (10.37%), (8.22%), (3.86%), (2.04%), (0.64%). Except all associated mortality. exhibited a 1.42-fold higher risk (95% confidence interval [CI ]1.35–1.50). All death, kidney-related conferring 4.84-fold CI 3.62–6.48). Underlying death. Even same timing onset, before after diagnosis, induced difference Both should be considered more proactive medical interventions.

Abstract There is a lack of interventions that treat the Post-Covid-19 Condition (PCC) itself. Accordingly, treatment guidelines recommend physiotherapy to alleviate symptoms and enhance functioning. In cases where unimodal treatments prove ineffective, non-organ-specific multidisciplinary bio-psycho-social rehabilitation (MBR) programs are suitable option. pilot observational study with assessments at entry end we aimed evaluate feasibility 3-week day clinic MBR program explore its effects on physical functioning in PCC patients fatigue reduced capacity. Patient selection was based an interdisciplinary assessment involving physician, psychologist physiotherapist. Feasibility determined full participation (≥ 8 9 days) maintenance stable endurance 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT). From 37 included study, 33 completed (mean age: 43 ± 12 years, 73% female). Four discontinued MBR, two them having reported deterioration symptoms. The 6MWT showed numerical improvement from 501 97 m 512 87 m, although it did not reach statistical significance. These results support outpatient focus active fatigue. This aligns previous research supporting effectiveness patients. However, further needed address possible different responses varying approaches subgroups

A substantial number of patients report persisting symptoms after a COVID-19 infection: so-called post-COVID-19 syndrome. There is limited research on patients’ perspectives and ways to recover. This qualitative study explored the illness perceptions recovery strategies who had been hospitalised for COVID-19. Differences between recovered non-recovered were investigated. Semi-structured in-depth interviews held with 24 participating (8 16 non-recovered) 7 12 months hospital discharge. Data interpreted using reflexive thematic analysis. Four overarching themes identified: (I) discharge; (II) impact daily life self-identity; (III) uncertainty about COVID-19; (IV) dealing Formerly seem have difficulties making sense their gaining control over recovery. Post-COVID-19 subjects typically experience symptoms of fatigue, cognitive impairment, and sleep difficulty, which can be relieved by conventional aerobic exercise. Virtual Reality (VR) technology to support exercise has recently gained much attention. Therefore, this study aimed assess the effects traditional treadmill compared virtual reality-simulated on function, quality, participant satisfaction with program in post-COVID-19 subjects.
