Abstract
Indoor
air
pollution
is
a
recognized
emerging
threat,
claiming
millions
of
lives
annually.
People
are
constantly
exposed
to
ambient
and
indoor
pollution.
The
latest
research
shows
that
people
in
developed
countries
spend
up
90%
their
time
indoors
almost
70%
at
home.
Although
impaired
IAQ
represents
significant
health
risk,
it
affects
differently,
specific
populations
more
vulnerable:
children,
the
elderly,
with
respiratory
illnesses
sensitive
these
environmental
risks.
Despite
rather
extensive
on
IAQ,
most
current
understanding
about
subject,
which
includes
sources,
indoor–outdoor
relationships,
ventilation/filtration,
still
quite
limited,
mainly
because
quality
monitoring
EU
primarily
focused
regulatory
