Currently, China’s urbanization has entered a stage of high-quality development, and rapid urban growth led to series environmental pollution issues, with haze caused by delicate particulate matter (PM2.5) increasingly becoming focal point for scholars. This paper focuses on Xi’an, Wuhan, Taiyuan, Lanzhou, exploring the relationship between PM2.5 concentrations using methods such as Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC), dominance analysis (DA), ordinary least squares regression (OLSR). The results indicate that (1) Xi’an’s built environment is distributed radially, Wuhan circular, Taiyuan grid-like, Lanzhou strip-shaped; (2) exhibited different development patterns 2014 2022, Xi’an experiencing expansion but lagging infrastructure, while focused improving post-urbanization quality. advanced infrastructure construction simultaneously. (3) coefficients concentration concerning factors building density, green space road water density in are relatively high. In contrast, spatial structure show consistency. study provides basis reducing explores interaction contribution PM2.5, offering new research perspective promoting sustainable development.

Achieving green, low-carbon, and sustainable development in the Yangtze River Basin is an important part of promoting modernization agriculture rural areas. Based on panel data 19 provinces from 2002 to 2022, this article constructed a comprehensive evaluation system for agricultural economy–population development–ecological environment system. By using entropy-weighted TOPSIS method coupling coordination degree model, level status economy, population development, ecological were quantitatively analyzed. The results show following: (1) index shows fluctuating upward trend, with obvious regional differences, showed trend gradual improvement west east. (2) exhibits volatile characteristic, initially increasing, then decreasing, subsequently increasing again. Overall, moving toward tighter state. (3) steadily yet overall not high remains barely coordinated Accordingly, suggestions are put forward optimize economic structure, improve quality, adhere protection, accelerate linkage so as promote growth, protection basin.
