Bioprinting,
an
innovative
combination
of
biotechnology
and
additive
manufacturing,
has
emerged
as
a
transformative
technology
in
healthcare,
enabling
the
fabrication
functional
tissues,
organs,
patient-specific
implants.
The
implementation
aforementioned,
however,
introduces
unique
intellectual
property
(IP)
challenges
that
extend
beyond
conventional
biotechnology.
study
explores
three
critical
areas
concern:
IP
protection
for
bioprinting
hardware
bioinks,
ownership
ethical
management
digital
files
derived
from
biological
data,
implications
commercializing
bioprinted
tissues
organs.
Employing
multidisciplinary
approach,
paper
analyzes
existing
frameworks,
highlights
their
limitations
when
applied
to
bioprinting,
examines
dilemmas,
such
human
commodification
innovations.
Findings
suggest
current
laws
inadequately
address
complexities
particularly
managing
intersection
proprietary
technologies
considerations.
