Chronic disorders of consciousness (cDoC) resulting from severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) are associated with significant challenges in treatment and recovery. This review explores multimodal interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes. A systematic was conducted on peer-reviewed studies PubMed Google Scholar published between 2000 2023. The included clinical trials, observational studies, case series that assessed for cognitive function patients cDoC following sTBI. Interventions considered pharmacological treatments, non-invasive neuromodulation, rehabilitation therapies, traditional medicine approaches. identifies several promising interventions. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), when combined physical stimulation techniques like transcranial magnetic (TMS) direct current (tDCS), has shown positive effects Non-invasive neuromodulation have been linked to improvements cortical activity consciousness, taVNS emerging as a novel approach. Additionally, Chinese medicine, particularly herbal demonstrated complementary benefits integrated modern methods. Personalized strategies based characteristics, biomarkers, genetic data were found enhance Notably, integrating these modalities into personalized care protocols enhanced efficacy, suggesting individualized approaches critical Multimodal therapies show promise enhancing recovery after sTBI, but further research is needed optimize standardize practices. integration represents potentially effective strategy

Advances in non-invasive neuromodulation (NM) have enabled practitioners to modulate neural activity safely, offering a promising approach treating neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions. This study aimed analyze the training profiles of NM assess their perceptions NM’s clinical efficacy, safety, patient satisfaction. An online survey was conducted among 117 various healthcare fields, using Clinical Global Impression (CGI) scale gauge outcomes. The findings indicate that 99.13% perceive as effective, with high rates improvement quality life symptom management. underscores importance standardized protocols enhance therapeutic

Background/Objectives: Ageing is associated with several cognitive, physical, and emotional changes, including a decrease in sleep quality mental health issues. This study studies NESA (Spanish acronym for Neuromodulación Superficial Aplicada) non-invasive neuromodulation using microcurrents as something that may provide potential improvement the of general older adults residents healthcare institution. Methods: observational recruited 24 people who were at long-term care facility. Participants divided into two groups: one intervention group, underwent therapy twice week total 20 sessions, control did not receive this treatment. The outcomes measured include (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), diary sleep, symptoms depressed mood (Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale), life World Health Organization Life-Old (WHOQOL-OLD). Scores collected baseline, after 10 3 months finishing Results: group exhibited notable (p = 0.05). Additionally, there fewer nocturnal awakenings. also showed better scores, especially relation to social relations physical health, which matches slight scores clinical regarding depressive symptoms. In contrast, demonstrated no symptoms, some cases, was worsening Conclusions: Our findings indicate likely enhance health-related measures institutionalized adults. Despite limitations current study, results support well-being population.

Cognitive deficits are emerging as critical targets for managing schizophrenia and enhancing clinical functional outcomes. These pervasive among individuals with schizophrenia, affecting various cognitive domains. Traditional pharmacotherapy behavioral therapy (CBT) have limitations in effectively addressing impairments this population. Neuromodulation techniques show promise improving certain domains patients spectrum disorders. Understanding the mechanisms of neural circuits that underlie enhancement is essential elucidating pathophysiological processes disorder, these insights could significantly optimize strategies schizophrenia. Meanwhile, although there an increasing body evidence demonstrating therapeutic effects neuromodulation area, further research still needed, particularly regarding topics such different treatment protocols long-term treatment.
