Abstract Background Approximately 20% of Norwegian adolescents are frequently using over-the-counter analgesics (OTCA). The WHO emphasizes the need for research to identify key determinants health problems in adolescence. Thus, our purpose is study and describe pain, stress, health-related quality-of-life (HRQOL) investigate possible associations between these two variables upon high/low usage OTCA. Suicidal behavior (SB) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) are significant public health concerns among adolescents. The COVID-19 pandemic may have exacerbated these issues. This retrospective cohort study analyzed data from 341 adolescents (aged 6-18 years) presenting to a Romanian pediatric psychiatry emergency department during the years 2019 (pre-pandemic) 2022 (post-pandemic). Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the emotional well-being of adolescents worldwide. Some studies suggested that individuals with high Environmental Sensitivity may have been more likely to experience poor psychological adjustment during than those lower sensitivity. However, there is still limited research on how responses varied across different stages and whether increased adolescents’ vulnerability impact prolonged restrictions. Methods To address this gap, study used a three-year longitudinal design (2020–2022) sample 453 adolescents.
