Background/Objectives: Compared to the general population in Germany, higher risks for depression, suicidal ideation and suicide risk have been reported German veterinary students. This study assessed various demographic study-related factors first time. Methods: An online survey was conducted among students determine characteristics, conditions, ideation, risk, Effort–Reward Imbalance (ERI student version) motivation achievement goals (Achievement Goal Inventory) during studies. Data of 913 (90.7% female) aged 18 46 years (mean age 23.6 years) were analyzed (response rate 14.3%). Hierarchical logistic regression analyses conducted, with as dependent variables well independent variables. Results: With used, variance explanation highest followed by risk. Low reward high overcommitment found be most important predictors Significant associations also revealed time choice, university entrance qualification grade, learning a group, perceived peer competition performance expectation from lecturers, transparency requirements examination requirements. Conclusions: The results this provide indications development suitable prevention intervention measures at medical schools strengthen mental health Germany.
