Women entrepreneurs in small to medium enterprises (SMEs) emerging countries play an essential role the economy of developing such as Indonesia. Drawing on resource-based view and entrepreneurship effectuation theory, this study examines how women’s entrepreneurial (WEE) modeled a higher-order construct (HOC) comprising its four dimensions (LOCs)—namely, flexibility, experimentation, affordable loss, pre-commitment—can influence employee performance (EMPRF) mediated by structural (STREM) psychological empowerment (PSYEM). Using disjointed two-stage PLS-SEM approach with data from 218 female SME employees, our results confirm that flexibility is most salient dimension. WEE strongly predicts both STREM PSYEM but shows no direct impact EMPRF, highlighting must be activated via mechanisms. emerges strongest mediator also contributing significantly being amplified gender equality practices; market orientation, contrast, fails moderate any paths. Theoretically, these findings enrich (RBV) theory integrating human resource capabilities generate inimitable gains. Practically, they suggest women-led SMEs should integrate heuristics targeted programs realize full potential their capital.
