Abstract The study determined the impact of restrictions introduced by Ministry Health in connection with COVID-19 pandemic on traffic and sound pressure levels university building its immediate vicinity. Mickiewicza Street was selected for study. It is one city’s busiest streets, located relatively close to old historic center, main artery connecting north south city. There are residential buildings this street, but primarily offices institutions, as well schools universities. Noise near street road can be a serious problem places where peace required (e.g., libraries, reading rooms, halls). Therefore, acoustic comfort needed these may disturbed, perception knowledge acquisition limited. aim work achieved through measurements analysis intensity levels, taking into account restrictions. Then, statistical analyses were performed, which showed significant variability values individual periods pandemic. pandemic’s beginning mainly characterized decrease above data, deviating from norm. The mobility and activity restrictions imposed in Spain due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant improvement urban noise pollution that could be objectively measured those cities with acoustic sensor networks deployed. This change soundscapes was also perceived by citizens who positively appraised this new scenario. In work, authors present comparative analysis between different indices provided 70 sound sensors deployed Barcelona, both during before lockdown, results of perceptual test conducted framework project Sons al Balcó which received more than one hundred contributions Barcelona alone. has been performed clustering objective subjective data according predominant sources location differentiating road traffic heavy, moderate low-traffic areas. study brings out strong alignments decline indices, satisfaction changes sources, supporting idea calibrated can useful make qualitative approximation perception when further information is not available.

Individuals exposed to elevated noise levels experience heightened emotional intensity, leading increased cognitive disruption and a higher likelihood of accidents. This study seeks investigate the impact exposure on human performance, moderating role emotion. Twelve healthy male college-age students underwent three conditions, each characterized by different sound pressure sharpness. Each condition included an initial acoustic/thermal adaption period lasting approximately 40 min, followed intermittent questionnaire tests battery computerized tests. Statistical analysis revealed that reducing proved advantageous, enhancing perceived quality, positive emotions, auditory perception abilities, while concurrently false alerts accelerating execution speed. Many these effects were found be counteracted Correlation analyses partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) results suggested emotions mediate relationship between performance. The potential underlying mechanism suggests negative feelings towards contribute poor states, subsequently influencing processes impairing executive function. outcomes this provide valuable insights into its cognition subjective perceptions.

Integrating the block system into construction is current trend in development of residential areas China. Road traffic noise major source blocks, and its relationship with spatial forms blocks remains unclear. In this study, 852 models (258 road network 594 buildings inside) were established simulated SoundPLAN 8.2 software, order to reveal impact (road morphology, neighborhood scale, architectural texture) on distribution blocks. Meantime, a prediction model based morphology parameters proposed. It was found that (1) Without considering buildings, both scale have significant effects noise, but has larger effect than scale. (2) presence within block, texture lesser extent parameters. (3) This research employs principal component analysis reduce dimensionality urban form Subsequently, developed predict overall exposure levels areas, which validated by example. can be used as tool for rapid diagnosis acoustic environment. These findings offer insights planning design from perspective optimizing
