Oral cancer is a common malignant tumor, and its incidence has steadily increased in recent years. Sleep disturbances, including insomnia obstructive sleep apnea, are prevalent among patients with oral significantly impact their quality of life. Emerging research suggests bidirectional relationship between disorders. This article reviews how induces or exacerbates disorders, particularly apnea (OSA), through factors such as pain, psychological stress, treatment-related side effects (e.g., upper airway damage caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgical interventions). Furthermore, it analyzes disorders may promote progression via chronic inflammation, intermittent hypoxia, oxidative disruption circadian rhythms. By elucidating these interactions, this review provides theoretical foundation for optimizing clinical treatment plans holistic understanding shared pathophysiological mechanisms.

Oral cancer refers to cancers originating in the oral cavity and oropharyngeal regions. It is 16th most prevalent sixth leading cause of cancer-related deaths. However, mechanisms its progression are still being understood, interventions provide early diagnosis need be improved. More studies have recently been conducted on cancer, many reviews summarized findings this field, focusing individual factors. few review articles evaluated combinational impacts different factors cancer. This aimed an overview effects three extracellular factors, including lifestyle habits, microbiome, socioeconomic progression. differentially affected by habits; high-sugar diets, processed foods, alcohol, smoking, possibly sleep disorders benefit progression, whereas eating natural such as fruits, vegetables, fish, garlic, drinking tea or coffee, physical exercise can combat it. Background: Patients with head and neck cancer often experience impaired sleep. Moreover, the treatment may negatively affect sleep quality. The aim of this observational study was to evaluate quality after for cancer, its relationship life psychological distress. Methods: A total 151 patients who underwent at our department were included in study. Quality life, quality, risk apnea, sleepiness, pain, distress assessed by means specific questionnaires. Results: median follow-up 30 months. Poor observed 55.6% cases. An association between PSQI global EORTC health status found. DT, HADS anxiety, depression scores associated score, latency, disturbances, daytime dysfunction.
