Dietary rhythms have emerged as a relevant variable in the equation relating nutrition and health. Both experimental epidemiological studies point to potential beneficial effects of adequate fasting intervals between meals on evolution chronic diseases associated with aging. Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is eminently related diet unsurprisingly, diet-based approaches are mainstay countering its long-term clinical evolution, including emergence hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We briefly discuss current evidence linking intervals, MASLD, HCC propose working hypothesis reconcile some apparently conflicting results. This relates time-restricted eating schedules quantity quality food, it easily amenable testing.

Liver-expressed antimicrobial peptide-2 (LEAP-2) has mutual antagonism with ghrelin, which evokes food intake under a freely fed state. Nevertheless, the impact of LEAP-2 on ghrelin time-restricted feeding (TRF), benefits in context metabolic disease, is still unknown. This study aims to explore central administration ingestion behavior rats, was evaluated using their cumulative TRF Before intracerebroventricular (ICV) O-n-octanoylated (0.1 nmol/rat), as food-stimulatory model, rats received various doses (0.3, 1, 3 nmol/rat, ICV). Cumulative recorded at 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 h after ICV injection 12 states light phase. In states, alone induced behavior. Pre-treatment (1 ICV) suppressed ghrelin-induced dose-dependent manner state instead state, may have disturbed balance LEAP-2. provides neuroendocrine-based evidence that explain why sometimes fails fighting obesity/metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease clinics.

Circadian rhythms dictate the timing of cellular and organismal physiology to maintain homeostasis. Within liver gut, circadian influence lipid glucose homeostasis, xenobiotic metabolism, nutrient absorption. Disruption this orchestrated is known negatively impact human health contribute disease progression, including carcinogenesis. Dysfunctional core clock has been identified in malignant growths may be used as a molecular signature progression. Likewise, its downstream effectors also represent potential for novel therapeutic targets. Here, role pathogenesis cancers gut will reviewed, chronotherapy chronopharmacology explored treatment options.
