The present investigation explores the potential of two synthesized zeolites, derived from coal fly ash (CFA; thermoelectric waste) and sugarcane bagasse (SCBA; agro-industrial waste), for selective adsorption cesium in wastewater. zeolites (ZCFA ZSCBA) were characterized compared with a commercial zeolite to evaluate their physicochemical properties effectiveness removing ions (Cs+) simulated radioactive results obtained X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, elemental analysis confirmed successful synthesis high-purity both solid wastes. impurities ashes impacted Si/Al ratio consequently influenced exchange capacity. After experiments, neutron activation (NAA) revealed that ZSCBA adsorbed 33.4% Cs2O by weight, outperforming ZCFA (26.0%) (27.9%). superior performance is attributed its distinct lower levels impurities, highlighting impact these factors on selectivity. findings this study demonstrate feasibility valorizing waste synthesizing offering sustainable approach managing residues while producing valuable materials environmental remediation.
