Pediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome (PIMS-TS), associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection, is a severe complication after COVID-19 in children. It caused by the immune reaction to SARS-CoV-2, and usually appears three six weeks infection. Unfortunately, PIMS causes non-specific symptoms, which makes its diagnosis treatment difficult. In this paper, we propose Fourier Transform InfraRed spectrometry (FTIR) identify chemical changes blood serum of children induced subsequent syndrome. The results suggest that although Principal Component Analysis (PCA) FTIR data did not allow for differentiation healthy before treatment, implementation Support Vector Machine (SVM) showed accuracy region between 800 cm− 1 1800 detection as high 92% sensitivity 100%. difference compositions sera from control group was detected 54%, indicating effective. Objective Estimate the incidence of multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) in children (0–15 years), role SARS-CoV-2 variants during first two years COVID-19 pandemic Luxembourg; and describe demographic, biological clinical characteristics patients. Method Observational retrospective cohort study. Cases between March 2020 February 2022 were ascertained from national registry MIS-C cases by a review medical records. Reported infections obtained surveillance system. We calculated monthly incidence, ratio associated rate ratios periods corresponding to circulation different variants. Results 18 diagnosed with among 35,200 reported infections. The was 7.2 [95% confidence interval (CI) 4.5–11.4] per 1,000,000 person-months. A higher observed September December 2021, Delta variant than year (RR 3.6, 95% CI, 1.1–12.3). lowest infection Omicron 0.17, 0.03–0.82). Median age at diagnosis 6.5 years. Previously healthy made up 88% cases, none vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2. 33% required intensive care. All patients recovered fully. Conclusions risk changed significantly over time pandemic. Monitoring future waves will be essential guide public health interventions vaccination policies for children.

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) plays a major diagnostic role in acute myocarditis (AM) children as biopsy is rarely performed this age group. Contribution of standard echocardiography (ECHO) limited AM, but speckle tracking (STE) quantitatively characterizes myocardial function, with good sensitivity for detecting subclinical left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and regional kinetics disorders beyond the site inflammation. This work aimed to evaluate potential STE compared CMR findings pediatric patients AM.
