Assessing Gut Microbiome Alterations in Children With Allergic Rhinitis: Associations With Allergen-Specific IgE Levels and Sensitization Patterns

The
relationship
between
gut
microbiota
composition
and
allergen
exposure
in
children
with
allergic
rhinitis
(AR)
remains
insufficiently
explored,
particularly
concerning
variations
at
different
allergen-specific
IgE
(sIgE)
levels
the
distinction

metagenomic
shotgun
sequencing

healthy
controls

gene
via
KEGG
pathways

substantial
salivary
secretion
pathway.
Additionally,
comparisons
HC,
mono-HDM,
poly-HDM
salivarius
emerged
key
differential
species,
showing
marked
mono-HDM
group.
Our
study
suggests
that
specific
bacterial
strains,
salivarius,
may
be
potential
biomarkers
for
assessing
varying
degrees
patterns

sensitization.

Evidence of house dust mite immunotherapy in paediatric asthma: a review

Asthma
is
a
prevalent
chronic
respiratory
condition
in
children,
often
exacerbated
by
allergic
reactions,
with
house
dust
mites
(HDMs)
being
significant
trigger.
Traditional
asthma
management
primarily
involves
inhaled
corticosteroids
and
bronchodilators,
which
do
not
address
the
underlying
mechanisms.
Allergen
immunotherapy,
including
subcutaneous
sublingual
immunotherapy
(SLIT),
has
emerged
as
strategy
to
induce
immune
tolerance
allergens.
This
review
evaluates
efficacy
of
HDM
paediatric
asthma,
focusing
on
reductions
exacerbations,
improvements
lung
function,
decreases
medication
use,
enhancements
quality
life
(QoL).
The
highlights
that
both
(SCIT)
SLIT
significantly
reduce
exacerbations
SCIT
showing
superior
function
improvement.
Combination
therapies,
particularly
biologics,
demonstrate
enhanced
outcomes,
use
reductions.
