High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and time-restricted feeding (TRF) have shown promise for improving glucose regulation by increasing insulin sensitivity, enhancing uptake, reducing production. Therefore, this study investigates the combined effects of HIIT TRF on AKT/FOXO1/PEPCK signaling pathway in liver tissue type 2 diabetic rats. 42 male Wistar rats (4-5 weeks age) were included study. The animals randomly divided into two groups: (1) Standard diet (SD, non-Diabetic (Non-D, n = 7) (2) High-fat (HFD, 35) 4 weeks. To induce diabetes, 35 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ) was injected intraperitoneally (IP). Animals with blood levels > 250 mg/dL considered as diabetic. Diabetic 5 groups (n 7): Diabetes-exercise (D-EX), Diabetes-TRF (D-TRF), (3) Diabetes-combined exercise (D-TRF&EX), (4) Diabetes no treatment (D-NT), (5) metformin (D-MET). Interventions (HIIT TRF) performed 10 Rats Non-D group did not receive or TRF. Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS) staining used to histologically analyze tissue. Levels glucose, resistance (IR), FOXO1 protein, PEPCK, area under curve (AUC) following IPGTT test, significantly decreased compared D-NT (p < 0.05).
