Plants of the genus Betula pendula (Betulaceae) have been used as antiseptics in treatment skin diseases. While bark this plant has so far a medicinal raw material, our research revealed that leaves are an extremely valuable source health-promoting bioactive compounds, especially polyphenolic compounds. The antioxidant activity novel lotion from leaf and its phenolic content was determined using DPPH FRAP assays Folin–Ciocalteu method, qualitative analysis conducted GC-MS method. antiseptic preparation also subjected to HPLC for assessment acids (gallic, 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic, 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic, chlorogenic, 3-hydroxybenzoic acids). shake flask method determine partition coefficient assess lipophilicity. A new ethanol-reduced containing antimicrobial ingredients evaluated standard killing methods (EN 13697:2019 EN 13697:2015) at 60 ± 10 s 300 against six microorganisms. aim these tests whether formulation exhibited performance like traditional ethanol. In addition, hand disinfection were carried out obtained B. accordance with 1500:2013, Escherichia coli strain K12 NCTC 10538. According results, high polyphenol contents (52 2 mg GAE/g dry material) other biologically active substances identified by (phytol, alpha-tocospiro B, sitosterol, or dilauryl thiodipropionate) can be thought parameters responsible effective derived birch leaves. Gallic acid 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic had greatest concentrations among examined. mean kill time >99.9 Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 (at concentration 30 g/100 mL) Pseudomonas aeruginosa 15442 40 mL), while ethanol showed same reduction microorganisms 80 mL.

The rising incidence of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) has been leading to the development alternative antifungal therapies. This study aimed develop a topical chitosan-oleic acid nanoparticle (CH-OA-NP) cream loaded with lemon peel essential oil (LPEO) for VVC treatment. characterization optimal formulation (F4: 10 g/L CH, 2:1 OA/LPEO ratio) showed high encapsulation efficiency, stability, and controlled release. Moreover, it was characterized regarding its particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, chemical/morphological profile. LPEO-related compounds (e.g., eriodictyol) were identified through LC-ESI-QqTOF-HRMS in matrix, suggesting preservation LPEO potential bioactivities after formulation. In silico docking 12 metabolites revealed that such as citronellic exerted inhibitory effects against several inflammation-associated enzymes 14-α-Demethylase). vitro antimicrobial tests demonstrated remarkable activity
