Climate change is significantly altering the dynamics of airborne allergens, affecting their seasonality, allergenicity, and geographic distribution, which correlates with increasing rates allergic diseases. This study investigates aeroallergen sensitization among populations from Tenerife, Spain, Lima, Peru—two regions similar climates but distinct socio-economic conditions. Our findings reveal that Spanish individuals, particularly those asthma, demonstrate higher levels to a broader range especially mites, 85% participants reacting at least one mite allergen. In contrast, Peruvian patients exhibit narrower spectrum sensitization. These results highlight influence environmental factors, such as pollution disparities, on allergen exposure immune responses. Moreover, this underscores necessity for region-specific diagnostic therapeutic strategies effectively address these variations. By elucidating intricate relationship between climate change, sensitization, research offers insights into respiratory conditions, advocating tailored interventions mitigate impact across diverse populations.

Spain exhibits significant climatic variability across its regions, ranging from the humid oceanic climate in north to Mediterranean and stepped climates southern central areas. These differences influence environmental allergen exposure, which may, turn, affect allergic sensitization patterns pediatric population. Variations temperature, humidity, airborne distribution, such as pollen, dust mites, animal epithelia, mold, contribute regional disparities responses among children. Understanding how conditions shape recognition different geographical areas is essential for improving allergy prevention management strategies. This study aims shed light on this issue by identifying a population of 236 patients (with 2 age groups analyzed: 6-10 11-15 years old) regions Spain. Skin tests with standard aeroallergens were performed, specific IgE (sIgE) analysis Allergy Explorer Macroarray Diagnostic test (ALEX2) Western blot. The results revealed trends eight cities analyzed (Barcelona, Granada, Lugo, Sagunto, Santiago de Compostela, Valencia, Zaragoza).

The development of rapid analysis human serum for the presence allergen-specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is currently important. Consequently, we developed two types three-dimensional (3D) protein biochips. first one a 3D hydrogel biochip containing droplets with molecules (allergens, immunoglobulins and others). These are disposed on elements consisting short polymer brushes grafting from surface polybutylene terephthalate polymer. immobilization proteins was induced by short-wave ultraviolet (UV) radiation. On such biochip, kinetics allergen-sIgE complex formation reached 60% saturation 6 h. Also, brush microchip polyethylene covalently immobilized opening oxirane cycles amino thiol nucleophilic groups contained in proteins. In case microchip, 100% 3 h, fluorescent signals were 2-3 times higher than those some allergens. Thus, comparative revealed that biochips more useful further studies protein-protein interaction ones.
