The term “Distance Education” (hereafter DE) is gaining popularity amid new global trends in cross-cultural studies of transnational education. main objective this article to identify the academic research development and future goals Distance Education domain using Scopus database last decade (2012–2022). To end, a bibliometric analysis was performed examining distribution publications, most influential scientific publication venues, productive authors, regions concluding with an explanation keywords co-occurrence line VOSviewer program. outcomes revealed that frequently examined topics field DE can be detected, which focused on distance learning, online teaching, education, moocs, ICT, constitute subgenres literature under consideration. Since COVID-19 first appeared, e-learning has become more and common. In order to understand gender disparities in e-learners’ self-efficacy, satisfaction, motivation, attitude, performance globally, this study will look at these variables. Many educational institutions have been forced close due the sudden outbreak, many students stay home take online courses. The research analysis shows that children in mainstream schools suffered from psychological deterioration (aggressive behaviour, depressive moods, despair about academic underachievement, etc.) when governments implemented measures to manage the COVID-19 pandemic, and children’s education took place remotely for a significant period.
