Student mental health is a challenging topic in higher education, with institutions aiming to develop policies and practices support students’ personal professional development. This study examined expectations of their tutors regarding support. An adaptation the Mentor-Q questionnaire, focusing on tutor role perceptions, was used measure student expectations. Confirmatory factor analysis showed good fit adapted instrument. The questionnaire completed by 869 students at Dutch university applied sciences, results were discussed eight students. findings revealed four tutors: awareness raisers, connectors, referrers, guardians.
