This research aims to explore the use, perceptions, and challenges associated with generative AI (GenAI) among higher education students. As GenAI technologies, such as language models, image generators, code assistants, become increasingly prevalent in academic settings, it is essential understand how students engage these tools their impact on learning process. The study investigates students’ awareness, adoption patterns, perceptions of AI’s role tasks, alongside benefits they identify face, including ethical concerns, reliability, accessibility. Through quantitative methods, provides a comprehensive analysis student experiences education. findings aim inform educators, technologists, institutions about opportunities barriers integrating technologies into educational practices guide development strategies that support effective responsible use academia.

The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology has triggered extensive discussions about its potential applications in sustainable higher education. Based on the acceptance model (TAM) and task–technology fit (TTF) theory, this research aimed to investigate current situations challenges Chinese university students using GenAI four typical task scenarios. This was performed a cross-sectional design. data were collected via questionnaire, with 486 undergraduates from participating. analysis methods include descriptive statistics, inferential content analysis. results show that more than 70% actively use GenAI, but nearly half them are not very proficient use. Doubao ERNIE Bot tools they prefer most. primary functions text production information retrieval. They mainly learn relevant knowledge skills through self-media knowledge-sharing platforms. Among scenarios, is widely used course learning activities, while application daily life job search relatively limited. demographic variables shows grade major have significant impact students’ GenAI. Abstract The burgeoning role of artificial intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) in academia signifies a transformative shift educational methodologies research practices. This mixed-methods cross-sectional study investigates the differential familiarity, usage attitudes towards GenAI among 704 students lecturers, supplemented by in-depth interviews with 12 industry academic professionals. Findings indicate minimal familiarity tools low use, primarily attributing this to lack knowledge. Notably, despite reported higher men than women, actual rates did not significantly differ. Discrepancies were also observed between lecturers usage, institutional factors generational divides impacting integration. underscores necessity for bridge these gaps through targeted literacy initiatives, fostering equitable access integrating into curriculum training.

Abstract In the present paper, we explore integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into teaching, learning and research practices within Faculty Instructional Technologies undergraduate programme at Holon Institute Technology (HIT), Israel. Our goal is to examine how GenAI has supported transitions in various courses across three study clusters: core topics related training, user experience interface design (UX/UI), technological development. Through five case studies from these clusters, demonstrate incorporation enhanced student as they conceptualise, design, create technology-enhanced (TEL) tools, systems, architectures designed meet real-world needs. this context, influences interrelationship among thereby facilitating a cohesive approach essential for students developing their capstone projects, which require knowledge skills all courses. This paper situates efforts intelligent-technological pedagogical content (TPACK) framework, illustrating GenAI’s role TEL. We conclude with recommendations researchers practitioners considering adoption enhance capabilities deploying next-generation TEL environments.

This research explores the guided experimental implementation of ChatGPT as a tool for developing teachers’ skills in teaching English. The intervention involved 24 in-service English Foreign Language (EFL) teachers who engaged crafting activities and assessments using researcher-designed prompts. Utilizing mixed-methods approach, researchers assessed participants’ integration proficiency through custom-designed assessment aligned with technological pedagogical content knowledge framework. eight-week introduced educators to various applications EFL teaching, including lesson planning. A quantitative analysis revealed statistically significant improvements across all measured dimensions. qualitative findings highlight perceived benefits, challenges, future prospects education.
