Energy consumption demands are rapidly increasing every year, with an 8% annual growth rate projected for the next five years. As buildings represent over 35% of this demand, a metering system is required monitoring to accurately calculate costs. This paper explores evolution and impact energy management through smart meters, emphasizing their superiority traditional electromechanical devices, in applications such as minimizing power losses enhancing grid reliability. study compares performance distinct systems, including advanced meters. Real-time testing across various scenarios incorporated, examining parameters real reactive measurement, accuracy adaptability grids. Key findings revealed that notably EDMI Mk10A, outperform legacy systems precision, data transmission optimization. In addition, potential meters enable dynamic cost calculation prevent electricity theft evident. Despite advantages, challenges privacy, installation costs electromagnetic radiation concerns, persist. Future investigations address identified limitations required.

With the increasing awareness for sustainable future and green energy, demand electric vehicles (EVs) is growing rapidly, thus placing immense pressure on energy grid. To alleviate this, local trading between EVs should be encouraged. In this paper, we propose a blockchain public key infrastructure (PKI)-based secure vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) energy-trading protocol. A permissioned utilizing proof of authority (PoA) consensus smart contracts used to securely store data. Encrypted communication ensured through transport layer security (TLS), with PKI managing necessary digital certificates keys. multi-leader, multi-follower Stackelberg game-based trade algorithm formulated determine optimal demands, supplies, prices. Finally, detailed protocol that ties all components together, enabling smooth interaction them. Key findings, such as system behavior performance, scalability blockchain, contract execution costs, etc., are presented numerical results by implementing simulating in various scenarios. This work not only enhances among EVs, encouraging efficient usage reducing burden power grid, but also paves way research management.
