Wood construction waste circularity presents enormous potential to significantly de-crease total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the European Union (EU). Latvia could become a frontrunner due its historic relationship with forestry, wood practises and unused of innovative application wood. This research examines what “circular wood” is, how ready Latvian house sector is engage circular economy whether legal framework support management country. study combined approach for systematic product assessment that includes review existing EU frameworks demolition (CDW) construction, general analysis recycling systems technologies, quantitative data qualitative sector, interviews focus group industry representatives. The scope has allowed us clarify pattern methodology impact points be replicated, tested measured further on broader scale, other countries, or throughout whole EU. main findings reveal life cycle (LCA) verifying limitations terms readiness as well overall social prejudices construction. Findings indicate an awareness level willingness participate models among Latvians; however, proactiveness (legal financial) expected from government municipalities. recommendations point towards improvements management, sustainable development goals.

There is always a high risk of toxic waste being dumped into the environment, posing serious health problems. That why proper management hospital paramount importance. Based on previous literature, we discuss possibility applying circular economy practices to manage enhance sustainability and reduce toxicity. Therefore, this allows hospitals adapt new form system associated with that focuses recycling recovery instead conventional linear disposal system. This paper explores learnings studies various cases have applied economy, showing its advantages, including environmental conservation, saving costs, optimizing management. The recommended minimizing risks enhancing ecological Lastly, study demonstrates how thinking underpinning can be utilized redesign in advance better future for earth.

The circular economy is considered the best principle through which sustainable practices may be established. Mineral exhaustion, decarbonisation, and waste elimination can all addressed a economy. built environment one of largest producers significant user materials such as concrete steel. However, there are considerable barriers to adoption objective study was identify, examine, comprehend main challenges that impede implementation scaling within environment. As part CircularB network, questionnaire launched in 2024 gather opinions on technical, political, regulatory, cultural, societal, economic, market from professionals. This paper focuses economic barriers, were recognised most important according insights 270 respondents. hurdles investigated include extra costs building insurance, inadequate collaboration, linear public procurement, unwillingness take back used components, low awareness exchange marketplaces, disconnection due transport distances. Addressing these plays crucial role advancing environment, stakeholders must explore solutions overcome them.

Construction and demolition waste (CDW) is one of the largest contributors to global streams, simultaneously posing significant environmental resource management challenges. The CDW, particularly its potential for energy recovery industrial symbiosis, has garnered increasing attention as part a circular economy approach. This comprehensive review explores practices in CDW management, analysing theoretical developments, technological advancements, emerging reuse trends. Background: accounts more than third all generated EU. A wide variety materials, such concrete, bricks, wood, glass, metals, plastics, make it very un-homogenous stream with high material through different approaches. Methods: draws on an extensive analysis scientific literature, case studies, industry reports assess current assessment feasibility recovery, object reconstruction. Results: originality research based Latvian study that provides valuable insights into household-level progress towards relevant UN SDGs. Conclusions: Various streams have undeniable valorization various Currently, most common approach recycling, although broaden application within framework. For instance, symbiosis solution can not only boost but also significantly increase circularity.
