Electric Vehicle Charging Station Positioning Problem: Multi-Criteria Decision Making Analysis with Entropy, CoCoSo and EDAS Methods

The
increasing
adoption
of
electric
vehicles
(EVs)
underscores
the
critical
need
for
an
efficient
and
sustainable
charging
infrastructure.
This
study
addresses
problem
optimal
vehicle
station
(EVCS)
location
selection
using
a
multi-criteria
decision-making
(MCDM)
approach.
Specifically,
Entropy,
CoCoSo
(Combined
Compromise
Solution),
EDAS
(Evaluation
Based
on
Distance
from
Average
Solution)
methods
were
applied
to
evaluate
25
potential
locations
in
Altıeylül.
Entropy
method
was
first
employed
objectively
determine
weight
each
criterion
based
their
variability,
ensuring
that
more
significant
factors
had
greater
impact
final
decision.
Environmental,
technical,
social
criteria
incorporated
ensure
selected
sites
would
maximize
accessibility,
reduce
air
pollution,
enhance
user
convenience.

emerged
as
top
choice
EVCS
placement

rankings.
