This study pioneers a combined Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Costing (LCC) evaluation of an industrial symbiosis (IS) case involving waste heat recovery from pulp paper mill to tomato greenhouse in Sweden. Unlike previous studies that assess environmental or economic aspects separately, this research provides holistic assessment quantifying both burdens feasibility. A comparative analysis framework is applied, evaluating symbiotic real versus conventional production the Netherlands subsequent import LCA examines gas emissions, eutrophication, toxicity, land use, resource depletion, while LCC assesses total ownership costs, including Capital Operational Expenditures. The findings demonstrate IS scenario significantly reduces emissions operational costs enhancing energy efficiency. work fills gap literature, offering replicable for sustainable operations. results highlight potential improve efficiency, promote circular economy strategies, foster practices agri-food sector.
