The
limited
degradation
of
synthetic
polymers
used
in
food
packaging
when
discarded

environment

concern
for
society.

have
sought
to
develop
biodegradable
eco-friendly
materials

packaging.

Microplastic
(MP)
contamination
of
marine
ecosystems
has
been
confirmed
as
an
environmental
issue
global
concern.
A
growing
number
monitoring
surveys

Recent
studies

nanoplastics
(NP)
contamination
of
the
terrestrial
environment
is
a
growing
concern
worldwide
thought
to
impact
soil
biota,
particularly
micro
mesofauna
