Nitrogen deposition can significantly impact soil biogeochemical cycling; however, its effects on the decomposition processes and nutrient release from leaf twig litter in subtropical plantations remain inadequately understood. In this study, we focused Pinus yunnanensis Franch. forest central Yunnan Plateau, southwestern China, explored how nitrogen addition influences over two years, under four levels: control (CK, 0 g·m−2·a−1), low (LN, 10 medium (MN, 20 high (HN, 25 g·m−2·a−1). The results indicate that after 24 application treatments, rates of remaining mass both litters followed pattern: LN < CK = MN HN. Under all rate was lower than (p 0.05). LN, retention decreased by 3.96% 8.41%, respectively, compared to CK. contrast, HN increased 8.57% 5.35%, respectively. This demonstrates accelerates decomposition, whereas inhibits it. Significant differences amounts lignin cellulose were observed when Additionally, time had significant nutrients (C, N, P) their C/N, C/P, N/P Following application, C/N reduced, while increased. suggest alleviates limitation intensifying phosphorus limitation.
