Algal metabolites have been extensively studied as potential anticancer therapeutics. Among them, polysaccharides attracted much attention because of their beneficial biological effects and safety. In the present research, chemical characteristics, antitumor, proapoptotic activities extracellular (EPS) isolated from a new Bulgarian strain green microalga Coelastrella sp. BGV were investigated. A fast convenient method precipitation with cold ethanol was used to isolate EPS culture medium. The characteristics examined by colorimetric spectrophotometric analyses, HPSEC-RID HPLC-UV chromatography, FT-IR spectroscopy. results showed that sample consists three carbohydrate fractions different molecular weights (11.5 × 104 Da, 30.7 72.4 respectively) contains 7.14 (w/w%) protein. analysis revealed presence galactose fucose. total uronic acid content in 4.5 (w/w%). The technology of fucoidan extraction significantly affects its properties. This study aimed to evaluate the impact dynamic maceration (DM) and ultrasound-assisted (UAE) on antioxidant anticancer properties from Arctic brown algae. Fucus vesiculosus (Fv), serratus (Fs), distichus (Fd), Ascophyllum nodosum (An) were collected Barents Sea. average yield uronic acid was higher (by 43.2% 22.0%, respectively) after UAE, while phlorotannin content decreased by 53.7% compared with DM. fucose level for all algae increased molecular weight fucoidans lower. highest activity noted An Fv, which obtained DM can be associated high concentrations phlorotannins. treatment HeLa G-63 cells studied 48 h concentration-dependently number dead cells. most promising Fv Fs phlorotannins, low sulfates, extracted co-administration paclitaxel caused cell cycle arrest in G2/M phase. calculated first time combinatory effect showed that simultaneous use exposure leads a synergistic interaction. Our results support rationality complex chemotherapy improve survival, quality life immunity patients cervical carcinoma.
