The purpose of this study was to develop the potential cottonseed protein concentrate (CPC) and Clostridium autoethanogenum (CAP) in diet rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) by evaluating effects substituting fishmeal with a CPC CAP mixture on growth performance, nutrient utilization, serum biochemical indices, intestinal hepatopancreas histology. In basal containing 200 g/kg (Con), (1:1) used reduce dietary 150, 100, 50 0 g/kg, form five diets same crude lipid contents (CON, FM-15, FM-10, FM-5 FM-0). Then, were fed (35.00 ± 0.05 g) for 8 weeks. weight gain (WG) feed conversion ratio (FCR) groups 258.72%, 258.82%, 249.90%, 242.89%, 236.57%, 1.19, 1.20, 1.24, 1.28, 1.31, respectively. FM-0 showed significantly lower WG higher FCR than CON group (p < 0.05). terms whole-body composition, such as moisture, ash, protein, no significant difference observed among all > 0.05), except that content detected groups, efficiency, retention, protease activity amylase Compared group, glucose total cholesterol well MDA increased, catalase, superoxide dismutase, antioxidant capacity decreased intestine histology, villus height width while morphology some vacuolization summary, can effectively replace 100 without adverse biochemical, or histology trout.

The aquaculture sector faces sustainability challenges due to unsustainable feedstuffs. To address this, there's a continuous search for alternatives traditional aquafeed protein sources such as fishmeal. Clostridium autoethanogenum is novel source with long-standing application in the bio-energy industry. With 80–89% crude content on dry matter basis, (CAP) has gained attention nutrition research species. This study aimed review CAP utilization aquafeed, examining its nutritional value and impacts aquatic animals' growth, feed efficiency, digestion, absorption, immune response. Research suggests promising potential showing achieving complete fishmeal replacement without compromising growth performance response select Nonetheless, higher inclusion levels show adverse effects health status of certain fish species, indicating variability among species utilize CAP-based diets. Further investigations are required understand this outcomes reported

To investigate the effect of poultry by-product meal (PBM) replacing fish on growth and intestinal health Chinese soft-shelled turtle (Pelodiscus sinensis). Four experimental diets were prepared. Fish was replaced by 0 (control group, PBM0), 5% (PBM5), 10% (PBM10), 15% (PBM15) PBM. Compared to control final body weight, weight gain, specific rate significantly increased, while feed conversion decreased in PBM10 group (p < 0.05). The PBM15 increased moisture content ash turtles PBM5 groups whole-body crude lipid serum glucose liver malonaldehyde Liver glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase pepsin activity expression interleukin 10 (IL-10) gene down-regulated 0.05), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), interleukin-8 (IL-8), toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) 5 (TLR5) genes up-regulated In summary, can be used as a protein source replace feed. Based quadratic regression analysis, optimal replacement ratio is 7.39%.

Abstract Clostridium autoethanogenum protein (CAP) is an emerging source with several key advantages and it has investigated on juvenile turbot (9.13 g). However, was indicated that fish growth stage a decisive factor for CAP performance the influence of intestine health not been reported. Thus, worth investigating effects extensively. In present study, 67-day feeding experiment conducted to evaluate in grow-out phase from performance, liver health. Six hundred thirty initial body weight about 150 g were randomly divided into 6 groups, which fed fishmeal-based control diet or replace 15%, 30%, 45%, 60% 75% fishmeal diet, respectively. From feed utilization, substitution level should no more than less previous reported turbot. The palatability linearly reduced. Although did induce enteritis, decreased villi height middle density distal intestine. Except decreasing size hepatocytes by at 45% higher levels, other abnormality observed histology. dietary reduced triglyceride cholesterol levels plasma 30% down-regulated genes related lipogenesis liver. lipid transportation oxidation up-regulated 15–60%. work confirmed safety suggested be before widely used aquafeed.
