Flavonoids are phytoconstituents anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic, antimicrobial properties. Herein, we listed contextualized aspects of protective flavonols quercetin, isoquercetin, kaempferol, myricetin flavones luteolin, apigenin, 3',4'-dihydroxyflavone, baicalein, scutellarein, lucenin-2, vicenin-2, diosmetin, nobiletin, tangeretin, 5-O-methyl-scutellarein. We presented structural characteristics subclasses, importance, occurrence, food sources. The bioactive compounds present in our diet, such as fruits vegetables, may affect health disease state. Therefore, role these inflammation, oxidative mechanisms, bacterial metabolism; moreover, synergism antibiotics better outcomes. Indiscriminate use allows emergence multidrug-resistant strains; thus, be adjuvant treatment infectious caused by resistant opportunistic bacteria via direct indirect also focused on reported mechanisms intracellular targets flavones, which support therapeutic inflammatory diseases.

The profile of phenolic compounds changes during the growth a plant and this change affects its antioxidant potential. aim research has been to find stage flax with highest capacity, determine responsible for such capacity. Flax was harvested in six stages: from stem extension mature seeds. were identified using LC-TOF-MS quantified an extract fresh matter (FM) each stage. radical scavenging activity against ABTS•+ DPPH•, ferric-reducing power (FRAP), β-carotene-linoleic acid emulsion system determined. Mono- di-C-glycosyl flavones found be most abundant phenolics aerial parts flax, which also showed content isoorientin (210-538 µg/g FM). Coniferin, derivative, hydroxycinnamic derivatives detected. richer flavone C-glycosides seed ripening (1105-1413 FM) than at (557 Most individual C-glycoside contents extracts decreased when increasingly older plants considered; however, did not significantly steam stages. antiradical FRAP higher flowering, brown capsule, stages, mainly due presence C-glycosides. oxidation instead inhibited more effectively by capsule Coniferin derivative involved activity. flowering could valuable source use as nutraceuticals components functional foods.

Abstract Seaweeds, serving as valuable natural sources of phenolic compounds (PCs), offer various health benefits like antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory properties, and potential anticancer effects. The efficient extraction PCs from seaweed is essential to harness their further applications. This study compares the effectiveness different solvents (ethanol, methanol, water, acetone, ethyl acetate) for extracting four species: Ascophyllum sp., Fucus Ecklonia Sargassum sp. Among them, ethanol extract had highest content total phenolics (25.33 ± 1.45 mg GAE/g) demonstrated potent scavenging activity against 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radical (33.65 0.03 TE/g) phosphomolybdate reduction (52.98 0.47 TE/g). flavonoids (0.40 0.02 QE/g) in its methanol extract, whereas acetate contained condensed tannins (8.09 0.12 CE/g). relatively strong antioxidant activity, with methanolic extracts exhibiting a ability 2,2′‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) (54.41 0.24 water showing ferric‐reducing power 36.24 0.06 TE/g. Likewise, liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry identified 61 individual PCs, including 17 acids, 32 flavonoids, 12 other polyphenols. particularly exhibited most diverse composition. These findings underscore importance selecting appropriate based on specific species desired compounds, providing guidance pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic industries. Practical Application which are secondary metabolites present terrestrial plants marine organisms, have garnered considerable attention due advantages biological Using organic/inorganic during process makes it possible selectively isolate types species. distinct polarity solubility properties each solvent enable facilitating comprehensive assessment composition found samples guiding industrial production.

Abstract A supercritical CO 2 method was optimized to recover naringenin-rich extract from Mexican oregano ( Lippia graveolens ), a flavanone with high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. The effect of the extraction parameters like pressure, temperature, co-solvent on naringenin concentration evaluated. We used response surface methodology optimize oregano; chemical composition by UPLC-MS simulated gastrointestinal digestion its capacity total phenolic content were also optimum conditions 58.4 °C 12.46% (ethanol), pressure 166 bar, obtaining 46.59 mg/g extract. Also, extracts yielded quantities cirsimaritin, quercetin, phloridzin, apigenin, luteolin. results indicated that obtained at had higher content, TEAC ORAC, flavonoid compared methanolic extract, reduced all these values.
