Around 20-30% of the horned melon's weight is peel. This peel often discarded or underutilized despite containing valuable bioactive compounds. Conventional methods for extracting polyphenols and carotenoids from melon are typically inefficient, environmentally harmful, require significant time energy. The potential green cloud point extraction (CPE) surfactant-based recovering bioactives with different polarities this kind by-product has not been thoroughly investigated. Therefore, study focused on optimizing CPE process parameters using a one-variable-at-a-time (OVAT) approach. Optimal demonstrated superior yields compared to conventional, ultrasound, microwave, ultrasound-assisted CPE, microwave-assisted methods. Further, Plackett-Burman design identified key factors influencing optimal conditions, while artificial neural network (ANN) analysis assessed each input variable's impact outcomes. Maximum efficiency total phenolics (352.49 mg GAE/100 g), (16.59 β-carotene/100 antioxidant activity (989.02 μmol TE/100 g) was achieved under conditions of: surfactant type = Tween 80, concentration 2%; solid:liquid ratio 1:100; pH 6612; equilibration temperature 35 °C; 60 min; salt NaCl; 16.4%; centrifugation speed 7906×

The concepts of “green chemistry” are gaining importance in the agri-food sector due to need minimize pollution from toxic chemicals, improve safety and sustainability industrial processes, provide “clean-labeled products” required by consumers. application cloud point extraction (CPE) is considered a promising alternative conventional organic solvents. In CPE, separation compounds bulk solution occurs adding surfactant (either non-ionic or ionic). When heated above critical temperature, referred as point, two phases formed—micellar aqueous. Recently, horizons traditional CPE have been increasingly expanding improved procedures integration with other techniques, such microwave- ultrasonic-assisted extraction. This article provides an updated overview theory research articles on 2018 2023 critically discusses issues relevant potential applicability green technique for antioxidants recovered plant materials. Finally, some future perspectives needs presented.

Abstract In the present study, olive mill wastewater (OMW) phenolics were extracted with soy lecithin using cloud point extraction method, and this enriched (OMW-L) was converted into spray-dried powders maltodextrin (MD) whey protein concentrate to be utilized as a dry food ingredient in cake premix. The inlet temperature of 170 °C 3 mL/min feed flow rate yielded highest powder yield (70.88 ± 2.12%) moisture content 3.78 0.03% when mass ratio MD 1:3 (w:w). hydroxytyrosol tyrosol contents 42.60 4.51 mg/100 g 15.48 2.50 g, respectively. Vanillic acid, caffeic 3-hydroxybenzoic catechin, rutin also identified powders. OMW-L higher loading polyphenols then used premix, replacing 1% 3% wheat flour. This substitution significantly reduced K value batter, determined by rheological analyses. addition samples, particularly at concentrations (3%), influenced both crust crumb color, causing changes L*, a*, b* values. hardness values samples did not alter blank or OMW-enriched added; rather, content.
