Huge volumes of organic matters are produced on Earth via photosynthesis and their disposal is a serious threat to the environment public health all over world. Nevertheless, these agricultural wastes possess chemical composition conducive mushroom cultivation. Lignocellulosic wastes, comprising cellulose, hemicellulose lignin, offer vital nutrients for growth. Oyster mushrooms well known unique ability degrade lignocellulosic materials, making them valuable contributors process waste decomposition nutrient cycling in ecosystems. Employing by-products as substrate cultivation presents sustainable approach reduction production nutritionally enriched food. Cultivating oyster mushrooms, an economically feasible environmentally friendly method transforming materials into highly nutritious These edible widely grown worldwide, around 27 percent total global production. has rapidly increased Asia due its low technology, easy availability substrates, temperature tolerance high yield capacity. sought after functional food appealing taste, aroma, flavor, nutritional benefits medicinal properties. They contain levels protein, fiber, vitamins B complex, C D2, minerals like potassium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc essential amino acids. versatile, they thrive both tropical temperate regions without requiring complex controlled environmental conditions This review article provides insights aspects important species, including novel species called Hypsizygus ulmarius. growing developing countries, where it can contribute security world's population, which expected reach 9.7 billion by 2050.

Abstract Background The production of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium as a promising object for use in food and other industries is hampered by lack information about the strain-specificity this fungus growth its acquisition various biological activities. Therefore, research aimed to investigate mycelial different P. strains on varies solid liquid media well evaluate antagonistic, antibacterial, antiradical scavenging activities, total phenolic content. Results Potato Dextrose Agar medium was suitable all except strain 2460. best rate 2462 culture 15.0 ± 0.8 mm/day, mycelia media—36.5 0.2 g/l. 551 1685 were more susceptible positive effect plant regulators Ivin, Methyur Kamethur. Using nutrient based combination natural waste (amaranth flour cake wheat germ, bran, broken vermicelli crumbs) has been increased yield 2.2–2.9 times compared control. All used displayed strong antagonistic activity co-cultivation with Aspergillus niger , Candida albicans Issatchenkia orientalis Fusarium poae Microdochium nivale dual-culture assay. EtOAc extract good inhibited Escherichia coli (17.0 0.9 mm) while 2460 suppressed Staphylococcus aureus (21.5 0.5 agar diffusion method. highest radical both extracts (EtOH EtOAc) (61 56%) DPPH assay high content (7.17 6.73 mg GAE/g) Folin-Ciocalteu’s maximal phenol (7.52 demonstrated 2461 EtOH extract. Conclusions It found that growth, dependent studied contrast activity. proposed mediums could be an alternative commercial biomass strains.

Mushrooms are known to be a nutritional powerhouse, offering diverse bioactive compounds that promote and enhance health. provide distinguishable taste aroma an essential source of vitamin D2, B complex, hydroxybenzoic acids (HBAs) hydroxycinnamic (HCAs), terpenes, sterols, β-glucans. Edible mushroom varieties such as Hericium erinaceus, Ganoderma sp., Lentinula edodes recognized functional foods due their remarkable potential for disease prevention promotion overall health well-being. These have antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, cytoprotective, cholesterol-lowering, antidiabetic, antimicrobial, anticancer properties, well controlling blood pressure, being immunity booster, strengthening bone properties. In addition, they contain non-digestible oligosaccharides (NDOs) ergothioneine, substrate gut microflora. Supplementing our daily meals with those can add value food, providing benefits. Novel edible mushrooms investigated explore substances therapeutic benefit human The scientific community (mycologists) is currently studying the prospects unlocking full advantages mushrooms. This review aims knowledge culturing conditions, potential, value-added products 11 varieties.

Lactic-acid-bacteria-derived bacteriocins are used as food biological preservatives widely. Little information is available on the impact of bacteriocin intake with gut microbiota in vivo. In this study, effects fermented milk supplemented nisin (FM-nisin) or plantaricin Q7 (FM-Q7) from Lactiplantibacillus plantarum inflammatory factors and mice were investigated. The results showed that FM-nisin FM-Q7 up-regulated IFN-γ down-regulated IL-17 IL-12 serum significantly. TNF-α IL-10 while them. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis suggested microbiome was changed by FM-Q7. Firmicutes/Bacteroides ratio reduced significantly both groups. It observed volume Akkermansia_Muciniphila whereas those Lachnospiraceae Ruminococcaceae increased. total number short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) mouse feces group content acetic acid increased butyric decreased These findings indicated could stimulate inflammation response alter metabolic components mice. The relationship between agriculture and food is very close. It impossible to produce adequate crops for global security without proper farm management. Farming practices represent direct indirect controlling factors in terms of security. management influence agro-food production from seed germination through the post-harvest treatments. Nano-farming utilizes nanotechnologies agricultural production. This review covers four key components nano-farming: nano-mushroom production, protein-based nanoparticles, nano-nutrients, nanofibers. provides a comprehensive overview potential applications nanotechnology agriculture. role these will be discussed relation challenges faced solutions required achieve sustainable Edible mushrooms are important because they nutritious source can nanoparticles that used other sources. Protein-based have considerable delivery bioactives as carriers applications. Nano-nutrients (mainly nano-selenium, nano-tellurium carbon nanodots) crucial impacts on nutrient status plant-based foods. Carbon nanodots carbon-based nanomaterials positively. There promising nanofibers packaging, safety processing. However, further research needed understand risks system.

This study set out to evaluate how effective the unexplored macrofungi Langermannia bicolor is in providing a biomolecular repertoire capable of optimizing action antibacterials available on market. Extract and fractions (obtained by fractionation with acetone) L. were quantified for presence proteases hemagglutinin, composition carbohydrates, proteins, phenolic flavonoid compounds; then, they tested against multidrug-resistant gram-positive gram-negative strains combined conventional antibiotics from different classes. Fraction 2 (F2) stood its high proteolytic hemagglutinating capacities, could reduce therapeutic dosage all pathogens tested. The samples – especially showed promising results antibiotics, thus potentially mitigating escalation resistance bacteria. project first investigate medicinal properties bicolor, focusing major biomolecules, potential as an enhancer.
