This experiment aims to explore the diverse beneficial effects of Lactobacillus plantarum. Employing dilution coating method, eighteen strains were isolated and screened from commercially available pickled cucumbers. Subsequent evaluations carried out assess their probiotic potential, including examinations gastrointestinal tolerance antioxidant activity. Through these analyses, a highly adaptable strain was identified. The results demonstrate that designated as DC - 3 exhibits remarkable cholesterol lowering capabilities. Moreover, it sustains survival rate exceeding 70% in bovine bile salt media with concentrations ranging 0.3% 1%, even within environment, where level can reach up 75%. cell's capacity scavenge DPPH radicals hydroxyl is 37.73% 46.71%, respectively. Additionally, self aggregation co abilities are 64% 28.5%, These findings suggest presents potential provides valuable reference information for future development L. plantarum related fermented food.

Abstract Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health challenge requiring cross-sector action, with research largely focused on chickens, leaving ducks underexplored. This study examines AMR dynamics in Ross 308 broilers and Cherry Valley over 15 months stocking periods under consistent rearing conditions. A total of 96 pooled samples were collected: 50 from broiler farms (26 biological, 24 environmental) 46 duck (24 22 environmental). Using next-generation shotgun sequencing, 3,665 distinct types identified: 1,918 1,747 ducks. Host-specific AMRs comprised 25.3% 18% ducks, while 56.7% shared. diversity declined across production phases, losing 641 308, yet frequencies increased significantly by the finisher phase ( p < 0.0001). Based silico data, prophylactic antibiotic use reduced prevalence multidrug-resistant bacteria both poultry species 0.05). Hospital-acquired infection-associated higher than at start but end period Above-average markers accounted for approximately 10% all detected determinants. Tetracycline phenicol resistances emerged as most prevalent. 13 high-resistance carrier (HRC) shared between hosts. Broiler-specific HRCs exhibited abundances (relative frequency: 0.08) duck-specific 0.003, = 0.035). The grower critical intervention point. In farm environments broiler-specific 9 biomarker identified, each strongly correlated poultry-core (correlation coefficient > 0.7). Broiler key genes, tetracycline predominantly associated Bacteroides coprosuis , Pasteurella multocida Acinetobacter baumannii . Despite its limitations, this provides insights into trends two major types, guiding targeted interventions sustainable management strategies.

Lactobacillus is a key genus of probiotics commonly utilized for the treatment oral infections The primary aim our research was to investigate probiotic potential newly isolated Levilactobacillus brevis DPL5 strain from human breast milk, focusing on its ability combat biofilm-forming pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus. Employing in vitro approaches, we demonstrate L. DPL5′s endure at pH 3 with survival rates above 30%, and withstand osmotic stress often found during industrial processes like fermentation freeze drying, retaining over 90% viability. lyophilized cell-free supernatant had significant antagonistic effect against biofilm-producing nasal strains aureus, it completely eradicated biofilms subinhibitory concentrations 20 mg·mL−1. Higher 69 mg·mL−1 were have 99% bactericidal effect, based conducted probability analysis, indicating production bioactive extracellular compounds capable disrupting biofilm formation S. Furthermore, genome-wide sequencing analysis cutting-edge Nanopore technology has uncovered 50 genes linked activity, supporting adapt thrive harsh gut environment. genome also contains multiple biosynthetic gene clusters lanthipeptide class IV, Type III polyketide synthase (T3PKS), ribosomally synthesized, post-translationally modified peptides (RiPP-like compounds), all which are associated antibacterial properties. Our study paves way further exploration DPL5, setting stage innovative, nature-inspired solutions stubborn bacterial infections.

This paper comprehensively reviews whey, a by-product of cheese production, as raw material for various biotechnological applications. It addresses its unique composition, the environmental impact inadequate disposal, and opportunities it offers to develop high-value products in line with circular economy sustainability principles. Using PRISMA methodology, systematic search was conducted databases (Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar) specific inclusion exclusion criteria. Studies from last five years were considered, focusing on food applications, production bioproducts (such lactic acid, biopolymers, bioethanol, biomass, enzymes), use whey culture medium expression recombinant proteins. is concluded that applications mitigates associated disposal represents an economic sustainable alternative industrial bioproducts. The integration pretreatment technologies, experimental designs, improvements producing strains brings these processes closer competitive conditions industry, opening new perspectives innovation fermentation sector.

Abstract In the last few years, probiotics have gained much attention within medical, pharmaceutical, and food fields, given health benefits provided by their consumption. They include several lactic acid bacteria (LAB) species, mostly belonging to genera Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Streptococcus. Postbiotics are bioactive compounds (organic acids, short-chain fatty enzymes, neurotransmitters) produced bacterial fermentation that exert different effects. It is well known probiotics, as health-promoting microorganisms, show therapeutic properties, including anti-pathogenic, anti-inflammatory, cholesterol-lowering activities. Recently, accumulating evidence has shown certain commensal play protective roles against cancer; thus, anti-carcinogenic activity one of most interesting properties currently under investigation. Here, we studied anticancer postbiotics three Lactococcus lactis subsp lactis strains isolated from natural whey starter cultures on human glioblastoma cell lines. MTT Trypan Blue exclusion assays revealed a significant reduction in proliferation, flow cytometry analysis corroborated this data, demonstrating cycle arrest treated cells. Moreover, other cancer hallmarks, such wound healing rate closure migration, were markedly inhibited postbiotics. On hand, primary astrocytes viability blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity not impaired, suggesting selective effect proliferating-undifferentiated This preliminary study highlights, for first time, potential some L.
