As a staple food for people worldwide, processed grain products, including rice, wheat flour, etc., have been the major source of toxic element cadmium human exposure. Indeed, contamination in products directly affects security and health, especially countries with grain-based diet like China. By analyzing levels across 20 provinces cities China during period 2023–2024, we developed an improved k-means++ algorithm that determines optimal clustering number through voting scheme. This has enabled us to establish risk classification model, which provides objective rapid assessment based on data-driven analysis. The results reveal can be classified into five levels, high-risk accounting only 2.81% total. different types rice other are higher than wheat. In addition, southern provinces/cities those northern provinces/cities.
