Abstract As law graduates wield significant influence in public life, schools’ responsibility for cultivating students’ civic capacities and dispositions remains an important but often neglected project. Taking up this project, article traces a thread of deliberative democratic aspirations within legal education scholarship explores the potential participation own political processes realising these ideals. To do so, it examines experiences experiment with democracy’s leading institutional innovation – mini-public demonstrates ways which fostered capacities, more collective orientation, increased confidence. Ultimately, illustrates mutually reinforcing nature education, affirms broader role society offers both theoretical practical insights into place school.

University students in the UK have encountered many challenges as a result of COVID-19 pandemic. This research aimed to track mental well-being large sample British university (n = 554) over one-year period pandemic, capturing data at four time points between May 2020 and 2021. Overall retention after 12 months was 34.73%. Findings showed pandemic has caused significant, negative impact on students. Students are suffering from prolonged high levels psychological distress anxiety. Levels flourishing still very low. The different phases appear played an influential role student health. practical implications for higher education recommendations future discussed.

ABSTRACT There is a well‐recognised mental health and wellbeing crisis among the undergraduate population in UK higher education. However, of postgraduate research students (PGRs) effectiveness university strategies supporting PGR are much less understood. Early shows that PGRs' impacted by their loneliness. These initial studies limited; however, primarily considering loneliness using qualitative approaches treating it as unidimensional phenomenon. In March 2020, the World Health Organization declared global COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and Norwegian government lockdown to stop virus from spreading. Norway, universities were immediately closed, all teaching learning done digitally for rest of spring semester 2020. Our aim was explore nursing students experience with studying learning, as well psychological consequences it may incur during a period social isolation Covid-19 lockdown. The study is qualitative based on focus group 6 students. analysis conducted following Kvale’s approach analysis. Three main categories identified: (1) psychosocial environment, (2) personal challenges, (3) communication. We found that restrictions due such closing university campus, has impacted students` situation significantly, both psychosocially academically. Engineering students enter a challenging sector in higher education and are potentially at risk of poor mental health or wellbeing less likely to seek help when experiencing wellbeing. We carried out scoping review using Joanna Briggs Institute methodology. Ten databases were searched over three-year period. Searches identified 191 sources evidence after title screening 33 included for final extraction following full-text screening. Included studies represented 4000 engineering from 10 countries. Studies mostly pilots, suggesting lack diverse research methods the existing base. also varied approaches reporting. Interventions training, relaxation, technology use, alternative teaching models, support services study break with range outcome measures used evaluate intervention effects. Study results indicated reduced stress anxiety, improved academic achievement, communication, motivation, physiological responses, attitude, increased physical activity, awareness, confidence. Mindfulness activities appear be helpful students. The mapped interventions but need further high-quality robust that transparently reported reporting guidelines.

Mental health deterioration in young adults the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic is being increasingly studied. It clear that psychological consequences will be evident for many years, especially among younger generation, who did not have time to acquire adaptive coping strategies before outbreak COVID-19. The purpose this study was assess condition mental students at Polish universities after two years pandemic. types used by respondents deal with stress were also evaluated order establish which them could a beneficial effect on psyche people.This included 721 participants (age [years]: M = 25.7, SD 5.3; 269 (37.2%) males) recruited using snowball sampling from Lodz, Poland, and full-time doctoral across Poland (phase I conducted March 2019 (N 352); phase II April 2022 369)). following tools study: General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) D. Goldberg, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Inventory Measuring Coping (Mini-COPE) Carver et al. Pearson's chi-square test multivariate logistic regression statistical analysis.The results detailing subjects, as measured GHQ-28, significantly worse group surveyed than survey (adjusted odds ratio GHQ-28 ≥ 5: 3.66, 95%CI 2.12-6.30, p < 0.001). Psychological counselling represents sensitive frontline services for the detection and treatment of early signs distress in students. This study aims to assess psychological medical students at beginning their academic career access rate a service during school. Predictors effectiveness were also explored. To understand how COVID-19 impacted undergraduate research experiences (URE), the current study examined student outcomes changed over time among biomedical science majors. In addition, this describes a Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD) Promoting Opportunities for in Education and Research (PODER) URE program shifted entirely online response COVID-19.
