Travellers throughout the world now have better access to medical information and care because of advancement digital health technologies in travel medicine, which has completely changed way healthcare is provided. The dual aspects these developments, notable achievements, new complications are examined this chapter. Digital simplified management travel-related conditions, allowing for prompt interventions individualised care. Examples include telemedicine, electronic records, mobile applications. By providing quick diagnosis, remote consultations, real-time monitoring, greatly enhance travellers' results. Adopting improvements not without its difficulties, though. Critical difficulties that require attention such data privacy concerns, divide, different national rules, possibility misdiagnosis as a result reliance on technology.

Background: The Telemechron project addresses critical needs in telemedicine by evaluating technology assessment frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs), among other objectives. Effective KPIs are crucial for assessing services, especially terms of their impact on patient outcomes service efficiency. Methods: This study adopted a dual approach to assess the contributions project. Firstly, it applied framework quantitatively evaluate focusing measurable improvements systematic analysis. Secondly, investigated set predefined using specific metrics parameters applicability limitations settings. Results Discussion: demonstrated significant utility providing structured, quantifiable across aspects services. It was effective alignment services with strategic goals integration existing healthcare systems. KPIs, although not developed within this directly used different operational units (OUs)—which established own context-specific KPIs—still provided valuable insights into performance. However, revealed that these highlighted need further customization enhance relevance various contexts. While may offer useful indicators, general necessitated adjustments better address applications. analysis model KPI set, parameters, is exportable generalizable national international Conclusions: confirms effectiveness delivering underscores importance adapting Future research should focus applying expanding metrics, refining models, integrating new technologies, conducting cross-national comparisons evaluations.

Background: Telemedicine has emerged as a transformative approach to healthcare delivery, addressing geographical and logistical barriers. Its effectiveness in improving access, patient satisfaction, appointment adherence requires comprehensive evaluation, especially the context of digital disparities socioeconomic challenges. Objective: This narrative review aims assess impact telemedicine on compliance while identifying challenges areas for improvement. Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar, covering studies from 2015 2024. Keywords included "telemedicine," "patient satisfaction," "appointment adherence," "healthcare access." Studies were screened relevance, quantitative findings extracted. Inclusion criteria encompassed peer-reviewed articles reporting outcomes, rates, accessibility improvements. Results: reduced waiting times by 30–50% improved 20–40%. Patient satisfaction rates ranged 70% 95%, with comparable diagnostic accuracy in-person visits. However, literacy barriers affected 15–25% patients, technological limitations hindered access 10–30% low-income populations. Cost-saving analyses limited but indicated reduction travel expenses 25–60%. Conclusion: significantly enhances adherence. must be addressed through hybrid models inclusive policy frameworks ensure equitable sustainable telehealth expansion.
