Sandalwood (Santalum album) and Teak (Tectona grandis) are essential wood sources for furniture. Sustainable micropropagation methods can benefit availability. This study evaluates NaOCl Povidone-iodine effects, immersion duration, concentrations on teak sandalwood micropropagation. is treated with 10% & 15% Povidone-iodine. No significant difference was observed between treatments; however, povidone-iodine shows potential as an effective sterilizing agent. Sandalwood's best sterilization: at 15%.

Plant tissue culture plays a central role in the agricultural, horticultural, research, and conservation sectors. It facilitates precise control over plant propagation manipulation, resulting enhanced crop yields, effective disease management, preservation of endangered species. Browning, well-acknowledged limitation culture, poses potential challenges to successful vitro multiplication. Browning primarily occurs response enzymatic reactions due explant damage. Left unaddressed, it can lead reduced regeneration capacity, hindered callus proliferation, impeded development adventitious shoots, and, extreme cases, necrosis. To mitigate issue browning, several strategies have been implemented i.e., submerging explants specialized solutions designed inhibit incorporating anti-browning agents into growth medium, adhering certain cultural techniques. This article aims comprehensively examine factors contributing browning multitude employed effectively manage problems cultures. Furthermore, explores encapsulating natural products as cutting-edge method address culture. These innovative approaches offer promising avenues for addressing thereby advancement sustainable agricultural practices efforts.

A functional textile immobilized by microcapsules of the lime peel essential oils C. aurantifolia (LPEO) was prepared and characterized. varied amount Chitosan/Alginate (CH/AG) ratios, followed a mass LPEO concentration sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) crosslinker, optimized sequentially to coacervate using Tween 80 emulsifier. An antibacterial assay against both Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria further evaluated for embedded microcapsules. The (0.2 g) effectively coacervated CH/AG (5:3) crosslinked 2% STTP give yield, oil content (OC), encapsulation efficiency (EE) 53.45 ± 2.16%, 65.08 2.60% 85.04 0.70% respectively. rough spherical shape homogeneously observed with an average particle size 0.757 mm. Avrami's kinetic model revealed release mechanism core following zero-order kinetics (k = 1.11 0.13 × 10−9 s−1, Ea 70.21 kJ/mol). demonstrated good thermal stability up 122 °C maintained 38% OC at ambient temperature four weeks. 70.34 4.16% were successfully overlaid onto gauze citric acid binder phosphate catalyst. Overall, exhibited strong inhibition S. aureus moderate epidermidis, E. coli, K. pneumonia.

The most effective methodologies for generating Musa spp. explants involve the utilization of plant tissue culture micropropagation techniques. However, pervasive challenge microbial contamination significantly impedes successful This study examined antioxidant and antibacterial characteristics essential oil (LPO) extract (LPE) obtained from peel Citrus aurantifolia. Additionally, we explored their mechanisms against common contaminants in micropropagation. Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, identified 28 components LPO, with δ-limonene, β-pinene, citral, trans-citral, β-bisabolene, geranyl acetate, α-pinene as primary constituents. Meanwhile, liquid spectrometry detected 17 LPE, highlighting nobiletin, tangeretin, scoparone, sinensetin, tetramethylscutellarein, 5-demethylnobiletin, pyropheophorbide A predominant compounds. Evaluation using DPPH ABTS methods revealed IC50 values LPE at 0.66 ± 0.009 0.92 0.012 mg/mL, respectively, indicating higher activity compared to 3.03 0.019 4.27 0.023 mg/mL same methods. Both LPO exhibited antimicrobial activities all tested contaminant microorganisms through vitro assays. Mechanistic investigations employing time-kill analysis, assessment cell membrane integrity, scanning electron microscopy changes morphological contaminants, intensifying increased concentration exposure duration LPE. These alterations led substantial damage, including wall lysis, leakage intracellular components, subsequent death. Consequently, emerge promising alternatives addressing banana cultures.

The extract of Citrus aurantifolia peel has been encapsulated into alginate-gelatin-based microbeads using an external ionotropic gelation method to apply antibacterial wound dressings. Such variables, like the alginate-gelatin ratio, quantity, and CaCl2 cross-linkers, were optimized produce a good yield, well-distributed size, encapsulation efficiency. Antibacterial efficacy was tested against both S. aureus E. coli. Optimal microbead characteristics obtained at alginate:gelatin concentration ratio 1.75%:0.25% (w/v), with 15 mg 2% cross-linker. These conditions resulted in 82.94 ± 1.056% particle sizes between 1.080-1.244 µm, efficiency 79.127 0.186%. exhibited almost spherical morphology slightly rough surface. release mechanism out governed by diffusion erosion shells following Korsmeyer-Peppas kinetic model (k=1.014 0.007/min). Biodiversitas 25: 1201-1213. Indonesia stands as a global biodiversity hub, boasting an exceptional richness that earns it distinction being mega-biodiversity country. Among its diverse ecosystems, Rutaceae family holds significance, encompassing numerous genera, notably Citrus genus, which showcases splendid array plants. This research aimed to determine relationships characters seven (Citrus reticulata var. Chokun, C. Fremont, Santang, Dekopon, aurantium variegata, aurantium, limon) in Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency, Java. method used this was explorative with purposive sampling. study collected three samples for respective character observations leaf morphology, anatomy, fruit morphology. Morphology anatomy were conducted Department Biology, Padjadjaran University laboratory. description data obtained from each orange plant then analyzed using NTSYS PC version 2.11a software obtain similarity values dendrogram analysis method.
