This work studies the experiences of people who stutter (PWS) with videoconferencing (VC) and VC technologies. Our interview study 13 adults uncovers extra challenges introduced by current platforms to stutter. Contemplative trainings have been found to effectively improve social skills such as empathy and compassion. However, there is a lack of research on the efficacy app-delivered mindfulness-based dyadic practices in boosting socioaffective capacity.The first aim this study was compare novel app-delivered, partner-based socioemotional intervention (Affect Dyad) with training foster compassion for self or others. The second investigate underlying mechanisms these effects.This randomized controlled trial included interventions waitlist control group, which received after postintervention assessment. ABSTRACT This dyadic, longitudinal study investigates the impact of pandemic‐related resource loss on cognitive empathy through actor–partner effects via attachment behaviors in a sample 535 cisgender heterosexual couples. The COVID‐19 pandemic resulted significant loss, disruption to societal functioning and transportation, panic, isolation. In wake mass‐stress events, preserving relationships may aid long‐term adaptation; this represents contribution toward understanding couples during mass stress. We tested actor partner at onset changes 6 months later. also examined mediating role behavior relationship. Resource indirectly decreased reduced for actors. It increased enhanced behaviors. Attachment supported higher within partners, with no gender differences model effects. Implications include importance reducing enhancing maintaining each other stress events.

Background At the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic, non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) unprecedented scope and duration were implemented to limit community spread COVID-19. There remains limited evidence about how these measures impacted lived experience affected communities. This study captured early impacts coping strategies in King County, Washington, one first U.S. communities by Methods We conducted a cross-sectional web-based survey 793 English- Spanish-speaking adult County residents from March 18, 2020 –May 30, 2020, using voluntary response sampling. The included close- open-ended questions on participant demographics, wellbeing, protective actions, COVID-19-related concerns, including freeform narrative describe pandemic’s individual-, family- community-level associated strategies. Descriptive statistics used analyze close-ended questions, qualitative content analysis methods free-form responses. Results median age participants was 45 years old, 74% female, 82% White, 6% Hispanic/Latinx; 474 (60%) provided narrative. Quantitative findings demonstrated that higher percentages engaged most types behaviors after stay-at-home order schools spaces closed, relative before, tended report greater concern physical health or healthcare access than financial social impacts. We investigated the social, emotional, and cognitive predictors of adherence to four health behaviors (handwashing, mask wearing, social contact limitations, physical distancing) during one critical phase COVID-19 pandemic. collected data ( N = 5803, mean age 53; 57% women) in Belgium at five time points between April July 2021, a which infections evolved from high (third wave pandemic) low numbers cases. Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic brought about unprecedented problems for contemporary society. The COVID-19 pandemic has had significant repercussions, particularly among healthcare professionals who have faced drastic changes in their work routines, increased exposure to risk, the precariousness of services, and experiences loss anxiety. A qualitative was conducted using Theory Social Representations included nursing (nurses, technicians, assistants), physicians, physical therapists were 18 years age or older. sample consisted 1317 participants selected convenience sampling. In the current pandemic situation, psychological science is increasingly considered by public health policy. Empathy mainly recognized as a crucial drive for prosocial behavior.
