Lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in restrictions on people's ability to move, allowing more time for intimate partners—this increased opportunities partner violence (IPV), especially against women. The study aimed evaluate characteristics of IPV women and after lockdown period. A prospective, descriptive female victims presented from March 2020 February 2022 a leading teaching hospital Sri Lanka. Out 876 patients admitted period, details could be obtained 300 victims. Ninety-four (31%) were lockdown, while 206 (69%) post-lockdown admissions. mean age victim both groups was 33.5 years. Even though physical abuse high throughout, prevalence sexual significantly higher (p < 0.0001) period (31.9%) than (3.4%). Financial problems (46.6%), followed by substance (35%), most common risk factors morbid jealousy (34%) factor, extramarital relationships (33%) lockdown. Psychological consequences due observed 76.5% only 11.2% prolonged has influenced mental health, changing pattern need have services ensure well-being community highlighted.

The COVID-19 pandemic may have increased interpersonal and intimate violence, harmful use of alcohol other drugs (AOD), mental health problems. present study uses a valid path model to describe relationships between these conditions young Mexicans during the second year pandemic. A sample 7,420 ages 18 24—two-thirds whom were women—completed Life Events Checklist, Alcohol, Smoking, Substance Involvement Screening Test, Major-Depressive-Episode Generalized Anxiety Scale, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Checklist. Young reported higher rates victimization perpetration violence symptomatology than those noted pre-pandemic in first Harmful AOD like by adolescents before. Findings suggested asymmetric gender (with women being at risk men, p≤.05). More men engaged (except for sedatives, which more abuse). In contrast, all conditions. indicates that victim predicts tobacco, alcohol, cocaine, depression, anxiety, specific PTSD symptoms (such as re-experimentation avoidance symptoms). Abstract Several studies demonstrated that intimate bidirectional violence (BV) is more common than unidirectional IPV. However, little known about the phenomenon of BV during COVID-19 lockdowns. The present study focuses on second lockdown in Portugal to characterize rates an online sample from community and identify main psychosocial correlates associated with BV. Three hundred thirty-six Portuguese adults, a mean age 35.02 years (SD = 11.67; 18–68 years), participated this study. In addition sociodemographic questionnaire, IPV (victimization perpetration), psychological distress, COVID-19-related anxiety, fear, life satisfaction measures were used. (31.3%) emerged as most reported pattern violence. group scored higher distress depression nonviolence group. Background: The pandemic has increased the rates of violent behavior towards women by their partners worldwide. Increased time spent living with abusive partner, working at home and limited social contact combined socioeconomic characteristics contributed to increase in this type violence.
