Compulsivity signifies a tendency towards repetitive and persistent actions in spite of negative consequences. Compulsive symptoms are at the core different addictive disorders, such as substance use gambling disorder, Internet gaming disorder. This study aims to develop brief self-administrated scale for measuring trait compulsivity across various behaviors context Chinese culture. The 20-item Trait Scale (CCTS) was developed based on theoretical conceptualization compulsivity. A total 2315 young adults were then recruited complete CCTS along with series other scales, including Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised (OCI-R), Fagerström Test Nicotine Dependence (FTND), Alcohol Use Disorders Identification (AUDIT), South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS), Gaming Disorder (IGDS), Generalized Anxiety (GAD-7), Zung Self-Rating Depression (SDS). Validity reliability assessed multiple analyses. exhibited excellent validity. Cronbach's α 0.872, one-month test-retest 0.863. Exploratory factor analysis extracted four first-order factors an eigenvalue over 1, explaining 50.23% variance. Confirmatory confirmed four-factor model, showing reasonable model fit. score significantly correlated OCI-R, FTND, AUDIT, SOGS, IGDS scores (r=0.383-0.682, p<0.001), good concurrent criterion-related correlations SDS GAD-7 not significant (r=0.014-0.020, p>0.05), indicating discriminant demonstrated sound psychometric properties among these non-clinical adults. might serve validated tool evaluating transdiagnostic diverse problems, both disorders behavioral addictions. Further investigations should be conducted clinical patient populations verify adaptability CCTS.
