Causes of academic dropout in higher education in Andalusia and proposals for its prevention at university: A systematic review

Introduction One of the main problems facing university system is high student dropout rate due to a number variables, accentuated by COVID-19 pandemic. This problem not only in Spanish universities but prevalent worldwide. It therefore important understand and analyze underlying reasons for so that it can be addressed mechanisms implemented limit higher education greatest extent possible. Method A systematic review was carried out summarizing results studies reports on Spain specifically Autonomous Community Andalusia. The conducted accordance with PRISMA statement searching scientific databases Scopus Web Science, limiting search articles published between 2010 2022. Results publications both Andalusia were identified. included causes indicated each selected proposals reduce it, including educational policies, rise distance education, academic failure basic stages, social, personal, psychological, economic variables. Campus outdoor environment, learning engagement, and the mental health of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic: From the perspective of students in different grades
