Cleft palate presents multifaceted challenges impacting speech, hearing, appearance, and cognition, significantly affecting patients' quality of life (QoL). While surgical advancements aim to restore function improve traditional clinical measures often fail comprehensively capture experiences. Patient-reported outcomes measure (PROMs) have emerged as crucial tools in evaluating QoL, offering insights into various aspects such esthetic results, speech function, social integration. This review explores PROMs relevant cleft complications, including velopharyngeal insufficiency, oronasal fistulas, maxillary hypoplasia, sleep-disordered breathing, caregiver QoL. Additionally, the highlights need for palate-specific scales better address unique faced by patients. The study aimed to explore the factor structure and psychometric properties of Chinese version Family Resilience Assessment Scale for Children with Disabilities (FRAS-CWD). Item analysis (IA), exploratory (EFA), confirmatory (CFA) used test discrimination items, determine model fit, also Cronbach’s alpha reliability test. EFA yielded 34-item 7-factor FRAS-CWD, which demonstrated satisfactory fit by CFA analysis. FRAS-CWD showed good internal consistency. evaluating China, reflecting socio-cultural characteristics.
