The long-lasting consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychological well-being young people have become an emerging research topic, which still raises several questions for post-pandemic interventions at individual and community levels. Food and alcohol disturbance (FAD) is characterized by the association of use with compensatory behaviors such as restricting calories, physical activity purging. Despite not being part current nosography, research has grown in past 10 years, mostly on college students' samples. In this study, we aim to describe prevalence, characteristics FAD problem drinking (PD) eating disorder risk (EDR) a sample Italian high school students. Participants were 900 students (53.6% males; mean age = 16.22) that administered standardized questionnaires. Students who screened positive for PD, EDR both were, respectively, 17.3%, 5.9% 1.3%. Approximately one out four reported behaviors, control weight higher prevalence severity among those PD. Abstract Purpose This study investigated the associations between retrospective reports of body image victimization (i.e. shaming) perpetrated by peers and parents during childhood or adolescence, food alcohol disturbance (FAD) in young adulthood, considering possible mediating role psychological distress subthreshold symptoms anxiety depression). Methods The involved 1624 adults aged 18 30 (69% women), who completed an online survey. Results Our findings revealed that participants reported more frequent episodes adolescence exhibited higher levels and, turn, scores FAD adulthood. Abstract Objectives: Concerns have been raised regarding the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on alcohol consumption patterns, which can implications for public health. In this descriptive study, we aimed to show change in frequency and amount Japan before during periods. Methods: We analyzed data from annual health checkups among Japanese workers April 2018 March 2021. Changes (daily, occasionally, rarely/never) per one-time (4 categories by unit) consumed 331 200 participants were summarized sex as 1-year changes periods (fiscal year [FY] FY 2019) (FY 2019 2020) pandemic. Results: Among daily drinkers rarely/never drinkers, overall, mostly consistent with pandemic, both sexes. The number occasional who drank less frequently a later increased compared (from 9.6% 11.6% men 12.9% 16.5% women); however, more showed small increase. Collectively, women slight decrease drinkers. Conclusions: No major shifts habits occurred our study population. Occasional tended drink suggesting that initial concerns about owing unfounded.
